Hi, I'm Fraser - if you're looking for a room in south-east London, I can enthusiastically recommend both this flat and the area!
The flat:
The spare bedroom (15'7 x 8'3) is available unfurnished or furnished. For the latter, as well as the furniture you can see in the photos, I would also provide a bed for the room (unless you wanted to get your own). Two large cupboards in the hallway provide additional storage space.
The flat is on the top floor, with great natural light and views of mature trees from the windows. There is a bathroom with shower and bath, a kitchen with a dishwasher, and a large living/dining room with a bay window.
The building is split into three flats, with the owner living in one of them. Since moving in (Jan '25), I've found the owner to be a great landlord (e. g. when the washing machine had a fault, they had a new one installed within a matter of days and offered me use of their machine in the interim). If you have a car, there is free on-street parking 30 seconds away.
Rent is £850 per month, with bills approx. £182 (council tax band D).
The area:
Having lived on this street for three years, I can say with confidence that this is a lovely area. The heath (a very short stroll away) and Greenwich Park provide ample green space to enjoy, with Blackheath village and Greenwich offering tonnes of great shops, restaurants and pubs. Blackheath train station is a 15 minute walk away, with trains getting you to London Bridge in as little as 12 minutes. More than one local bus route runs to North Greenwich tube in approx. 15 minutes.
About myself:
I moved to Blackheath in August 2022 to teach at a local school, living just up the road before moving into this flat (my current contract runs until 17 July 2026). If you enjoy having your place feel like a home and value it staying clean and tidy, we're probably on the same wavelength! I'll have plenty to keep me occupied between work and my own social life, while also being happy to socialise with a flatmate and help contribute to a friendly environment.
