Description
We have a large double room with available in our lovely house/share. We are currently 2 females and one male. The home is a beautiful 4-story listed building on a stunning square with private garden and fab central London location - with a view of the Shard, the sound of Big Ben and easy stroll to Borough Market, Tate Modern, Southbank, London Bridge, Tower Bridge and, of course, the City. (we LOVE our neighbourhood)
We seek someone: friendly, TIDY, mature, nonsmoking, open-minded and house proud. We like to keep it tidy and also garden, recycle, compost, etc. Our preference is for a creative-minded, international professional. Foreigners are most welcome (we're from multiple continents ourselves and have already ticked the British box) but please be fluent in English. You should be someone young at heart but mature in mind, who can live with others and help us keep the atmosphere as nice as it is – clean, friendly, grown-up, yet fun. This houseshare has been 10+ years in the crafting – evolving, maturing and making ever better each year. While central, professional and pragmatic, it has a uniquely warm family feel and very slow turnover – an absolute gem in central London.
Flexibility: We have traditionally let this room to long-term, full-time housemates who have been very active in the house, however more recently one of our housemates became a part-timer, working only 3 days/week in London, and hey, it still also works well! Hence we are also open to short lets and those who may commute to London from out of town (or even out of country). As stated, the house is very organic and forever evolving. In other words, just like us! :)
Allergies: There are many cats in our neighbourhood – several who pass through and hang out here regularly.
Some details:
Location: Borough SE1
Rent: £1500/mo exclusive
(+approx £150/month for bills)
Transport links include:
Borough station - 4 minute walk
London Bridge - 12 minute walk,
Elephant and Castle - 12 minute walk
Waterloo station - 17 minute walk
Gatwick, Stansted and Luton airports are also easily
accessible from London Bridge station.
The house:
Open plan living and dining room
Large kitchen
Private garden
Overlooks leafy square
Generous storage
Gas/central heat
Gas cooker, washing machine, full-sized
fridge/freezer, carpeting throughout
THE ROOM:
Spacious – Large, roomy and fully furnished room with double bed, 2 wardrobes, desk, full length mirror, etc. – all very neutral/contemporary, and open to personalisation.
Own bathroom – With full sized bathtub / shower (+ sink and toilet)
Comfortably private - The room is on the ground floor, separated by the lounge/dining floor, from all other bedrooms (which are two and three floors above). It has a toilet, kitchen and garden access just outside the door. So in many ways feels like its own semi-separate little flat. This has historically been the room which everyone settles into the longest (its shortest stay averages 3 years!)
For all candidates, some positive experience living with others is a must!
Hopefully this will give you a fair idea of the place and our ethos. We are a very friendly and hard working household, seeking someone who will help us maintain both the quality and great "vibe" of the house. We've lovely neighbours, local wine tastings and numerous amenities right on our doorstep. It's a very special find in central London... so finding the right housemate is essential. Hopefully, this might be you!... :)
NB: A credit check is required.
