Description
Could you be the newest addition to our East London masseria?
We’re a household of sociable queers who take care of our living space and look out for each other, and we’re on the hunt for a new housemate!
🛏️ The Room:
Room available from 1st January, in our lovely five-bed flat in the heart of Bow.
Rent for the room is £680 p/m.
You would be taking over from an outgoing tenant, so you’d be signing an assured shorthold tenancy contract until next September.
The room comes furnished with a double bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers and small bedside drawers.
Accessibility info: the flat has ground floor access from the street, but over a ledge so unfortunately not wheelchair accessible. The flat is on two-levels and this bedroom is upstairs, up one internal flight of 13 stairs. No phone entry system or visual & hearing impairment adaptations.
👪 About us:
We're an energetic group who each have our own things going on, but we like cooking meals, watching trash TV and occasionally going out together. This isn't an afters place; we like having people around but also think of the home as somewhere where we come back to relax and unwind. Keeping the flat clean and tidy is important to us.
We’re a mix of professions and the arts - we’re giving you range.
🏠 About the flat:
• 5 bedrooms, 4 upstairs and 1 downstairs - split on two levels; bedroom available is on the ground floor.
• Bathroom upstairs, extra toilet downstairs.
• Open kitchen and living room area.
• Two fridge-freezers, washing machine, but no dryer or dishwasher though.
• Communal storage
🗺️ Location: well located in the heart of Bow, 5 min walk from Bow Road station, 8 mins from Mile End station, and 9 mins from Bow Church DLR station; well served by buses too - v easy to get into Central, Hackney and south London. A few nice pubs around, cafes and shops, and a short walk from Roman Road and Victoria Park.
💸 Bills: none included in rent and they come up to approx. £85 pcm - including council tax (band C), internet, energy (gas and electric) and water. Private landlord so no agency fees.
Deposit is £685, secured in the deposit scheme. The landlord unfortunately doesn't accept housing benefit, and will require references and proof of income.
🔍 About you:
Ideally looking for a queer professional in their late twenties, early-mid thirties. We won't reply to general messages, please tell us a bit about yourself when you get in touch.
No couples, sorry.

Bryony (she/her)
Sociable and easy going, at home I will probably be found pottering around drinking coffee and tending our allotment patch. I work in fashion with a varied schedule (generally not from home). Love to dance, an occasional baker and enjoy a gallery or a pub in equal measure.
Jamie (she/her)
PR girlie, currently working for a mental health charity. Learning Italian and will tell you about it at any given opportunity. Enjoys an emotional deep dive over breakfast in the kitchen. Into literature, art, running and politics.
G (they/them)
Retired wild child with a soft spot for gold hoops and donk. Employed by the NHS (9-5) but made in the bakery ( coffee and baked goods are the way to my heart).
Sarah (she/her)
Rodent parent to 3 beautiful gerbils. Currently working hybrid at a music venue in Camden. Love secondhand, whimsical moments and Bruce Springsteen. Hate soggy flares, double standards and parsley.
