Description
**SECURE, GATED BUILDING WITHIN 5 MINUTES WALK TO BROCKWELL PARK**
THE FLAT
One of those modern flats found in a well built and secure development built 5 years ago; it’s warm and light, on the second of three floors consisting of two bedrooms, two bathrooms, two balconies and a spacious communal living room and kitchen area. The living room and kitchen are open plan with wood flooring and doors that open out onto a charming balcony and a quiet cul de sac. We benefit from being on the opposite side of the building to the main road so it’s quiet, and south facing so the sun streams in all day, which, particularly in the summer months, is pretty delightful. A little bit like the inhabitants!
THE ROOM.
A bright, comfortable, decent sized double room that comes furnished with a double bed and inbuilt wardrobe and drawers. Additionally, aside from visitors, you will have sole use of the large, main bathroom (with a bath, a rain shower and plenty of storage)
THE AREA.
There’s no point me telling you this is one of London’s best looking borough’s, it isn’t - but it’s buzzy, diverse and we are close to / sit in the middle of a handful of South London’s most lively areas.
- A short 5 minute bus journey from Brixton (with 8 bus options, you never have to wait longer than one minute) and the Victoria line.
- Walking distance to Streatham Hill (for trains going one stop to Balham, and two stops to Clapham Junction)
- A 10 minute bus to Clapham Common
- 15 minute walk to Tulse Hill with trains to Blackfriars/Farringdon in 15 minutes.
We’re also a short walk from Brockwell Park, arguably the best park in London, and of course the lido. On the other side of it is Herne Hill, with great pubs and a wicked farmers market on a Sunday morning. And on the other side is Dulwich, followed by Peckham, both a short bus ride away.
BUT WHO LIVES IN A FLAT LIKE THIS?
A young(ish!) professional now in the business end of my thirties (38 if we’re being honest, 32 if I’ve squeezed in a Botox session before we meet)
I work in advertising as a TV producer and I love my job - it can be stressful with long hours, but I genuinely enjoy what I do. I usually work from home two days a week, although infrequently there can be periods where I’m in the office 5 days a week.
I am an aspiring morning person, hairbrush avoidant, lover of crisps and Bill Murray, book enthusiast, a terrible cook, binger of films and TV series and a fair-weather disciple at the church of On Running.
And I’m pretty social - until recently I was usually out 3 to 4 evenings a week. However this has lessened somewhat because…I recently rescued a puppy! A sweet little girl called Goose, the most charming of creatures, the best looking dog in London, a total angel aged around 3 years old who is incredibly well behaved. She is very playful and loving with people she knows, but still reasonably fresh to this new life and therefore can be shy with new people. She’s also still quite nervous of the outside world, so essentially she’s an indoor house cat in a dog’s body. And you have nothing to worry about in terms of noise - she hasn’t barked once!
It’s a very friendly, clean and relaxed environment. To side-step all the typical Spareroom cliches, I’m pretty normal - I work a lot, I have fun, I drink a normal London amount (as opposed to the ‘odd glass of wine’ frequently plugged on other profiles) I go out, I stay in, I binge watch TV, not all of it terrible.
WHO AM I LOOKING FOR?
I’m looking for a lad or lady of a similar age, who leads a similar lifestyle, with bags of personality. It’s hard to tell what someone is like from reading an ad, so I’ll be holding viewings over the next few weeks to find someone who’s a good fit. Needless to say, one crucial flag is that Goose and I come as a package deal so a dog lover is essential. Please get in touch, tell me a little bit about yourself and those who fail the psychopath test will be invited round.
Available from June
Monthly rent including bills is £1200
