Description

A bright and spacious double bedroom has become available in a charming terraced house in Brixton. Perfectly positioned for commuters, the home sits equidistant between Brixton and Herne Hill stations - both just a 10-minute walk away. For those who prefer the bus, 24/7 services stop at the end of the road.

Nature and fitness lovers will appreciate being just two minutes walk from Brockwell Park, home to the famous Lido and gym. You’ll be spoilt for choice with local amenities, from the vibrant Brixton Village and Pop Brixton to the independent eateries of Herne Hill. The Ritzy Cinema, Brixton market and yoga studios are all within a short walk, with the O2 Academy just 15 minutes away.

Practicalities are well-covered: secure bike storage is available in the back garden and residential on-street parking is available with a permit.

About the house…

This three-bedroom Victorian home is tucked away on a peaceful residential street just off Water Lane. Recently refurbished throughout, the house is exceptionally light, airy, and spacious while maintaining a warm, welcoming feel. The neighborhood is incredibly friendly with wonderful neighbours and a quiet atmosphere. Outside, the lovely garden offers the perfect setting for summer barbecues, growing your own herbs (which you’re encouraged to join in with!) or simply spending lazy afternoons on the garden lounger.

The bedroom is very quiet and incredibly spacious. It comes fully furnished with a double bed, a bedside table and a chest of drawers. The room features a comfortable workspace with a large desk and chair, alongside a built-in shelving unit and a large, cozy egg-shaped lounger chair. Additional storage includes extensive shelving hidden behind a closed door, with ample space remaining for a double wardrobe (which will be provided). I am also happy to be flexible with the layout and furniture to suit your specific needs.

You'll be sharing a large, modern bathroom that offers both a separate shower and a bath. The rest of the home is equally spacious, with a shared lounge, kitchen, dining area and a lovely garden. Kitchen is fully stocked with all the mod cons, including a washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, air fryer and coffee machine to make life easy.

This home is a real sanctuary, with plenty of natural light and a layout that is perfect for home sharing. It really is a truly welcoming and peaceful space!

About us…

You’ll be sharing the house with me, a 52-year-old professional and a 51 year old professional housemate. I’d describe us both as very friendly and easy-going. We both love catching up at the end of a busy day, but also enjoy our downtime and cherish the quiet, relaxing vibe of the house.

A little more about me...When I’m not out running, cycling or doing yoga, you’ll likely find me at a gallery, theatre or cinema or simply chilling with a good book (or an interesting podcast!). I’m quite sociable and love catching up with friends over coffee—whether we’re discussing the world or just offering each other a bit of support. I value those meaningful connections and being part of a kind, supportive community is very important to me. I try to bring that same sense of care and consideration into my home and all my relationships, creating an environment built on mutual respect and kindness.

A little more about the housemate: she is very sociable, an avid reader, and a keen consumer of all things culture - from arts and music to film and theatre. A passionate cyclist, she loves her morning coffee and daily visits to Brockwell Hall in the local park. While she is outgoing, she deeply values the sanctuary the house provides and has felt completely at home here from the day she moved in.

What we are looking for…

We are looking for a considerate, mature professional who is seeking a true home rather than just a place to stay. The room is available for up to six months initially, but we are completely flexible and open to extending the stay for the right person.

It’s important to us to find someone who is kind, independent and naturally clean and tidy. While the house is a very quiet sanctuary (definitely not a party house!), it’s also a friendly and social one. It would suit a housemate who enjoys their own space, but is also open to sharing a meal, a movie or a coffee (or glass of wine!) from time to time. If you value a home built on mutual respect and a calm, welcoming atmosphere, you’ll fit right in.

The rent covers all your bills and fast, fibre-optic broadband, so there are no surprises. It also includes a fortnightly cleaner, which keeps the home looking great for us to enjoy.
