Description
Hello,
We have a double room available in this recently extended and architecturally refurbished, plant filled Victorian terrace, on a quiet residential road. The room has a double bed and gets the afternoon sun. The room is furnished with bed/mattress, chest of drawers etc but we also have some basement space to store the bed/mattress if someone has their own.
We're an artist/record producer with a background in maths and art, an AI Music researcher with a background as an architect and a photo-journalist, a systems specialist with an international background in political science and a passion for cooking, and a graphic designer with a passion for reading, looking for someone to join our relaxed, sociable and curious house. This is very much a home where we chat with each other and have a catch up when home from work etc whilst at the same time, all having our own busy lives and being respectful of each other getting on with our own things.
The house has five bedrooms, three bathrooms, a shared living/cinema room and a huge open plan kitchen/dining/living room with 2.6m high bifold doors that fully open onto a patio and garden. The kitchen has a six burner Smeg range cooker, full height fridge and full height freezer. There are two massive skylights so you get light throughout the day. The kitchen itself is bespoke made of birch plywood with oak parquet floor and underfloor heating. The living room has a working fireplace and connects to the kitchen via a small courtyard. We have a 1080p projector/amp and speakers setup for a wall sized cinematic/gaming experience. We have high speed 1Gb internet, with a mesh WiFi network throughout the house + ethernet ports. New dishwasher, large energy efficient washing machine and separate tumble dryer. Additionally we have a basement for storage.
The house is situated on a lovely quiet road of terraced houses as part of the Wells Way Triangle, and is in close proximity to Burgess Park and Camberwell high street as well as Rye Lane/Bellenden Road. There's a really nice community feel in the area amongst the neighbours, with an annual street party held each summer, and it's a short walk to all the restaurants/pubs/cinema in Peckham and Camberwell.
I own the house so there are no agent hassles. There's a standard tenancy agreement with a 6 month minimum contract and ideally we're looking for someone who's looking for a home and is up for staying for longer than that.
Rent is £995 a month and the deposit is one month’s rent.
Bills (utilities, cleaner etc) are split equally between the housemates and have been averaging out as around £125 each per month.
We have a cleaner who comes every week to clean the communal areas and as a grown up house/home, we endeavour to keep the house in a clean and tidy state for all to enjoy. We also have a very friendly neighbour's cat called Pumpkin who visits daily, and is a big fan of belly rubs.
The room is available from Sunday the 16th of February. If you think the house might be a good fit, please send us a message with some information about yourself including your age, what you're up to in London, what you're working from office/home situation is, when you're looking to move and a contact number.
Cheers!
Nic
