On offer is what is essentially a one bedroom flat in the heart of canary wharf on a private estate.
The property is a townhouse on three floors. The top two are for us (the owners). We are a couple - no kids.
The ground floor was originally set up as au-pair or maid type quarters. What is now the layout for the ground floor is a double bedroom, a private double balcony, a kitchen, shower room and WC. Because this is still part of the house the hallway is shared but essentially it is your own autonomous flat. We have always had a lodger - why not as it means we are getting a little return from the space we do not need in the house.
We have for many years been lucky enough to find tenants who work in London during the week but return to their family homes for the weekend. A pilot for a few years. A guy who built crossrail for a few more. And we have always ended up with great tenants who became good friends. Given what is on offer the price is incredibly cheap and in return we get the place to ourselves at the weekend so we can relax a little more.
We both travel a lot and have busy jobs so we are out a lot. And apart from the washer and drier which is shared in the utility room we never need to access the ground floor apart from the passing through the hallway and you will never need to access the upper floors so it works well. We seek as before.
A professional person ideally needing a place for week nights only. No visitors, no pets, no partners staying. Parking might be possible and if so it would be on a private estate and gated. The place will be free from the end of June.
