Description
Due to flexibility being provided, rate can be vary (even calculated on a per day basis!) and deposit not necessary
Recently bought a 2 bed property in Catford and looking to rent the spare room out. Can be very flexible (no. of days per week, short tenancy periods, etc) and happy to have a conversation about what works for both parties. More detail below but I'm a very easy going guy who would want you to consider the flat yours as much as it is mine. I'm active, sociable, like to have a fun time, like to travel when I can, and all the usual interests you'd expect to see....
Who is this property perfect for? :
- those looking for short term stays in London due to temporary work commitments, so that they can look for a longer term home, etc
- those who only need a place in London 3-4 days a week due to flexible working.
- also open to other flatmates!
A bit about the property :
- Split level property
- bottom floor includes your bedroom, kitchen and large living room
- top floor includes my bedroom, utility room and bathroom
- property was bought a few months ago. I should make the point that it comes furnished but is a work in progress in terms of making it feel homely, decorating, etc (I'm hopeless so any ideas welcome! 😊).
- I would also like to redo the kitchen and bathroom at some point as they are a little dated (just warning!) but still nice enough to live in so not urgent.
- lots of storage available too!
About your room:
- very spacious bedroom with king size bed and blackout blind
- in addition to the bed, has a stylish wardrobe and drawers as well as two bedside tables
- appreciate this is minimalistic at present so let me know if you need anything else (desk, dressing table, mirror, etc) and happy to buy what you need within reason (have literally bought the bare essentials so far!)
About me...
- 32 year old male professional working in the city 3-5 days a week (0-2 days working from home)
- very easy going and hospitable so will be very respectful of your space, noise, etc and would want the same.
- I'm quite active so regularly go to the gym, boxing, play tennis and football occasionally. Also fairly social, sometimes during the week and then at the weekends too. Enjoy a pub quiz, comedy night, live music and all the usual stuff a London resident likes! Point being I'm not often at home all evening during the week nor at weekends. You'd therefore get your own space at times, but am also very open to socialising with my flatmate if that's your vibe and we get on like that (and if that was the case you'd of course be welcome to any of the aforementioned activities). At the same time, very relaxed if you want to keep yourself to yourself haha
- at home in the evenings, I'll usually just stick the TV on and chill if I'm not out doing something. Again, pretty relaxed on this and the only time I would probably get funny about the TV is when my football team is on!
About the area...
- EXCELLENT TRANSPORT LINKS - 5 minute walk from both Catford and Catford Bridge Station which provides 2 separate routes into Central London. Catford Bridge gets you to London Bridge in 12-15 minutes, Waterloo in 18-21 minutes and Charing Cross in 22-25 minutes. Catford gets you to London Blackfriars in 24 minutes with the likes of Peckham and Elephant and Castle en route (and has direct trains through to St Pancras during rush hour).
- multiple bus routes to get you around south London too
- plenty of green spaces
- Tesco supermarket 10 minute walk, Sainsburys hypermarket 20 minute walk (direct bus route also available).
- Catford benefits from a nice range of villages within close proximity (Lewisham, Crofton Park, Forest Hill, Brockley) which are all within walking distance and have nice cafes, pubs, restaurants, etc. Catford itself has a number of nice pubs (including the famous Blythe Hill Tavern which is less than a 5 minute walk from the flat) and a range of food options. It's also very easy to get to Peckham which has a more vibrant nightlife.
