I’m sadly moving on from my apartment and am looking for someone to take over my lease in what has honestly been one of my favourite places I’ve lived in London.
It’s a beautiful one-bedroom mezzanine apartment in Shillington Old School, a historic school conversion just five minutes’ walk from Clapham Junction. The building itself is really special, full of character, quiet, and very well looked after. The biggest selling point for me was the amazing natural light in the flat, with enormous windows which face south and give lots of light during the day and amazing sunset views in the evening.
The apartment is split over two levels, so it feels much more spacious than a typical one-bed. The mezzanine layout works brilliantly for separating living and sleeping space, and it just has a really calm, comfortable feel to it. Everything is modern and very well thought out, there are electric blinds, and the heating is extremely effective and controlled through a touchscreen panel where you can fully customise temperatures and timings. Even in winter, the flat stays warm and energy-efficient, and bills are genuinely very reasonable (Wandsworth Council Tax Band C).
The kitchen and appliances are all high-spec and work perfectly, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer included, which makes everyday life very easy. The flat can be furnished or unfurnished: all the furniture is mine, but I’m very happy to leave some or all of it by separate negotiation if that’s helpful.
One of the things I’ll miss most is the building itself. It’s a secure, gated development with a private allocated parking space (which is rare this close to Clapham Junction), access to a lovely communal roof terrace, and genuinely friendly neighbours. The on-site building management team are in the building at all times and are incredibly responsive, if you ever need anything, it gets sorted quickly and without hassle. The building is also pet friendly, so if you have any furry friends they are more than welcome!
The lease currently runs until the end of August, with the option to extend if you’re happy here, and it’s also very flexible. As long as you can find someone to replace you (which is honestly easy, as the place really does sell itself), you’re free to move on whenever you need to, which makes it ideal if you want flexibility without short-term renting stress.
Rent is £2,100 per month (not negotiable as this is a lease replacement), with Wandsworth council tax band C. I’m ideally looking for a move-in date around the end of January, but I can be flexible with this.
This is a genuinely special flat and I’m only leaving for personal reasons — I’ve loved living here and would really like to find someone who’ll enjoy it just as much.
If you’re interested, please message me and I’m very happy to arrange viewings or answer any questions!
