Description
My flatmate is moving on for work, so I'm looking for someone new to share my lovely two-bedroom flat in Clapton. I've really enjoyed living here and I'm hoping to find someone who'll love it as much as I do!
The flat and the area
This flat really is a bit of a gem. There are beautiful river views from both the living room and the bedroom, and it's in one of the best parts of East London: peaceful and away from the hustle and bustle, but right on the doorstep of everything that makes this part of London so great.
There's a real sense of community round here. Chatsworth Road, with its brilliant independent shops, cafés and local favourites, is a short walk away, and there are plenty of parks, green spaces and good gyms nearby. Whether you're into weekend walks, morning coffee or keeping active, it's all close by. Clapton has a proper neighbourhood feel without being cut off from the rest of London.
The room and the flat
The room is unfurnished, so it's a blank canvas for you to make your own. The communal areas are partly furnished. I'm currently redecorating and buying new bits for the living room, so it's still a work in progress! I've included photos of how the flat looked before alongside some more recent ones to show how it's coming together.
I'd love the flat to feel like a home that reflects both of us, not a generic rental. If you've got furniture, artwork, plants or anything else you'd like to bring, you're very welcome to.
The flat has high-spec finishes throughout, a new oven and kitchen, and a really nice bathroom with a great shower (and, importantly, no mould!). It's well kept and feels good to come home to.
A bit about me
I'm 35 and work in VR for a large corporate company. I love the gym, seeing friends and all the usual things. I also travel fairly regularly for work, so some weeks you'll have the place to yourself, which is a nice bonus!
I'm looking for someone who's friendly, up for a chat and wants to make the flat feel like a home rather than just a place to sleep. It's equally important that we both respect each other's space, routines and downtime. Ideally you'll enjoy a sociable, relaxed home but also be happy doing your own thing.
The practical bits
• Rent: £1,100 per month
• Bills: about £180–£250 per month depending on the season. This covers a cleaner every two weeks, who'll also clean your room and change your sheets, plus cleaning supplies for the communal areas.
• Transport: about a 10-minute walk to Clapton Station
• Parking: a free parking space is included
• Pets: dog-friendly, and dogs are very welcome!
• Availability: as soon as possible, subject to references and the necessary arrangements
