Description

Hi there,

My name is Ed, and I am 32. I am looking for a flatmate for a room that has recently become available. You would be sharing with just one other person, myself.

The flat is in a nice area, a 15–20 minute walk to Colindale tube and a 7-minute walk to the big Sainsbury’s supermarket.

I am quite a homely person, so I am keen to make improvements with new furniture and upgrades via the estate agent or DIY. I’m thinking about maybe getting a bookcase with room for a record player for the living room.

The room is a good, comfortable size with lots of light from the Velux window. It comes with storage for clothes, including a clothes rack, and a bed. The room also has a small ensuite attached.

I am looking to find someone whose interests are aligned with my own, as it makes everything easier.

The ideal flatmate would be someone who is relaxed but also appreciates keeping a clean and tidy flat. Someone who is up for sharing tasks, and who is considerate and quiet like me, would be great.

Ideally, you’re a team player whose default is to do your own thing, but who is also open to sharing the occasional meal or watching a film/TV show.

A full-time job is required. There is room for a desk in the room if you’d like one. Working from home a few days a week is fine with me. I am mostly in the office, but some days I work from home too.

About me:

I am originally from London but grew up in the countryside. I studied film at university. I enjoy reading, discussing films, and keeping fit and healthy through the gym, swimming, and hiking.

I am a creative person who aspires to do more drawing. I work full-time as a motion designer, so I’m quite a techy person and interested in how things work.

There is off-street parking available around the back of the property if needed.

Costs:

All bills should be roughly £175 per month.

Deposit:

I am waiting to hear back about the exact deposit from the estate agent, but let’s assume five weeks’ rent (£1,125).

The flat is in Barnet Council, tax band B.

I am not in a rush and want to find a flatmate who is a good fit. I am currently renting the whole flat, so yes, the room is available now and will remain available while the ad is online.

The new contract would start at the end of May. Before then, it would be a sublet. The next contract’s rent will hopefully stay the same or be a similar amount, but this has yet to be confirmed with the estate agent.

FYI — in the photo of the living room, you can see items in the corner. These will be removed at the end of the sublet as they belong to the previous tenant. My home office will move into my room once I get a desk.

Any questions, do let me know, and please share a bit about yourself.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Best,

Ed
