A lovely large room (20 square metres) in a ground floor flat in beautiful Crouch End will soon become available.

The west-facing room abounds in natural light and looks out over a large communal garden.

It comes with shared use of the substantial lounge, bathroom (with tub, shower, and sink), separate WC, and well-equipped kitchen. You'll have your own fridge and freezer, with shared use of the other appliances, including the cooker (induction hob), microwave, air fryer, dishwasher, and washing machine (no dryer).

The room is offered unfurnished so you can bring all your own things and decorate as you like. The room has new carpet and a large closet.

Bills are split 50/50. These include electricity/gas, water, TV/broadband, and Council Tax (Band D). Bills are approximately £400 per month per person on top of rent

Oakfield Court consists of purpose-built apartment blocks on a very quiet and leafy private drive off Haslemere Road at the top of Crouch End Hill. Built in the 1930s, the buildings have some wonderful period details. It's a friendly community with its own WhatsApp group, resident association, summer picnics, and holiday potlucks. Down the hill behind us is the wonderful Parkland Walk.

Crouch End regularly ranks as one of London’s most desirable neighbourhoods – in 2023 it was named ‘Best Place to Live in London’ by The Sunday Times.

Three different bus routes are within a five-minute walk from the flat -- one of these gets you to Finsbury Park tube station in under 10 minutes. Another, the 91, goes to Trafalgar Square via King's Cross, Euston, Russell Square, Aldwych, and Charing Cross. Crouch Hill station provides easy access to the London Overground, and Hornsey and Harringay stations offer train services. A parking permit for Oakfield Court is included if you have a car.

Move-in date is flexible from 10 June. The lease starts on 24 June. An earlier move-in date can be negotiated.

This is a proper flat share, with each of us having a separate tenancy agreement with the letting agency. (This is not a live-in landlord or lodger arrangement.) The agency is one of the best in London and is responsive and easy to work with. After I pass your name on to them, they will request references.

Please note that the lease is annual and renewed year-to-year on 24 June.

I'm a university administrator and writer. I'm looking for a flatmate who will treat the flat as a calm, peaceful retreat. It's a special place, well suited for a mature professional or serious older student.
