Hello, I'm advertising one (and possibly two) double rooms, each with private bathroom in a large, well-maintained terraced house in De Beauvoir Town.
For those not familiar with the area, De Beauvoir Town is just north of Shoreditch and is equally close to both Islington and Hackney. Indeed, my road divides the two boroughs!
Despite being so close to lots of hipster areas, the neighbourhood itself is peaceful and has lots of cool local hangouts (cafes, pubs, restaurants etc.). But if you want a more edgy vibe, with a higher chance of being mugged or having your mobile phone snatched from your hands, Dalston and the Kingsland Road are only 5 mins away! Personally I like to mix it up a bit.
Currently, I share the house with one housemate Ryan, aged 30 (who occupies the ground floor room - room 1 in the photo). However, he is moving out on 8 March to go travelling with his girlfriend. As such, one room is becoming available then. There is also another spare room which is currently vacant (it was occupied until the end of last year) and I'm considering renting that one again.
This is a "live with the landlord" scenario, so don't message me if you don't feel comfortable with that idea! However, the atmosphere in the house is very relaxed and (I believe) previous tenants have all enjoyed staying here. The other advantage is that the house is well looked after and broken things generally get fixed quickly!
I have a diverse social circle in London with friends of all ages from their 30s to 60s and I enjoy having a sociable atmosphere at home, both with the people I live with but also with visitors to the home (both mine and those of my housemates). I personally enjoy cooking a lot so there may be some experimentation going on(!) and I also enjoy the occasional glass of wine at home, having done my wine "A level" (WSET level 3) some years ago.
I'm looking for people who would appreciate that kind of set up. The house is spacious so also provides plenty of opportunity for privacy when needed.
The monthly rent includes all bills and any other hidden extras so the financial set up is simple. I do have a short form contract which I ask people to sign which is for everyone's security and benefit.
