Description
Hi -
We are looking for a new flatmate to move into our lovely four-storey house near Peckham Rye Park! The double room is £600pcm, and move-in date is a bit TBC but likely early Dec.
Our home has lots of original features and charm across 4 floors (loads of space but also lots of stairs). There are four bedrooms, one bathroom, another loo, one big kitchen and a cozy living room. We’ve also got a lovely little garden which is a bit of a sun trap. There is a utility area downstairs with even more storage.
The house is between Peckham, East Dulwich, Nunhead and Honor Oak, so lots of great places to explore and brilliant transport links (Overground to East London, trains to Victoria). Plus we are right by a bus stop with regular buses to Central London (the 63 and 363) - you can always get home!
There is a Co-op less than 30 seconds away for small shops and Morrisons/Asda/Lidl in Peckham, and a really big Sainsburys in East Dulwich.
You would join three current housemates:
George (they/them) an artist who works at Tate and enjoys watching films, going to art exhibitions/events, and napping. Kai (they/them) works at an LGBT+ charity in policy and enjoys cycles, cooking and films. Ruby (she/her) works in theatre casting and likes reading, cooking, going to theatre and red wine.
We enjoy hanging out together, watching movies and tv, and chatting while we cook. We’re all busy people and happily do our own thing, and the size of the house means you never feel crowded. But we want a flatmate who is keen to spend some time together, to get to know each other, and have monthly flat dinners. We both mostly eat vegetarian meals but one of us sometimes eats meat.
We share the cleaning (weekly rota) and try to keep the house looking tidy. We have friends over and are social but this is not a party house.
We are a queer (LGBTQ+) friendly house and would be looking for the same in future housemates.
The room is a huge double on the top floor. It’s unfurnished.
Cost: the room is £700pcm. Bills average at about £150 a month (more expensive in winter but cheaper in summer). The deposit is 5 weeks rent (£750 - the ad won’t let me put the actual amount but it is £750 not £700)
There are referencing checks through the agents which are quite straightforward if you are working full-time but a bit more complicated if you are freelance. They require that you earn 2.5 times the rent.
Get in touch to arrange a viewing - please send us some information about yourself and what you're looking for.
We will be doing viewings on 26 Oct and we will aim to confirm a week in advance.
