Description

MORE PHOTOS ON THE WAY - I've only recently moved in so it's still a bit empty and messy, but will get them added shortly.

My spare bedroom is available in a lovely 2-bed flat in East Sheen. It is about a 1-minute walk from Mortlake station, so quick and easy connections to Richmond, Clapham, Waterloo, and more. Available from mid-October, but there's some flexibility on that.

The flat is above a bakery (dangerous, I know) and comprises two bedrooms, a shared bathroom, living/dining room, and separate kitchen. I will be getting the kitchen renovated soon, so there will be some disruption for a couple of weeks at some point. But at least the result will be a lovely new kitchen!

The bedroom is furnished, including a small double (130cm width), desk and chair, and bookcase. I will also purchase a wardrobe for it, so you could have some say on what type you would prefer (but wouldn't be expected to pay anything). I was also planning on redecorating it, so you can also choose a paint colour (within reason...). You'll note there is no furniture in the photos - I've not long moved in so am still getting all my stuff out of storage.

If you aren't familiar with the area, East Sheen is lovely! Has a great selection of independent cafes, shops, bars, and restaurants. It's also a short walk from the flat to Richmond Park in one direction and the river path in the other.

My understanding is that parking is available with a residents' permit, which you would have to arrange with Richmond council if needed.

The council tax band is C with Richmond Upon Thames. Please note that I am currently exempt from this as I am classed as a student (doing an additional postgrad on the side), so you would be responsible for paying this if you are not also exempt.

The rent is £625/month excluding all bills. I would expect bills to come to £250-300/month (not including council tax), which we would split down the middle.

Finally, a little about me. I'm a legal academic, so you can expect the flat to be full of books. I work from home about half the week, and am usually out a few evenings a week. I like to keep the flat clean and tidy, so if you're quite messy it probably won't work. Big fan of the theatre, pub quizzes, and going on the occasional hike - so if any of those match your interests that's great. I want to live someone I can actually get on with, so if you are the type who stays in their bedroom all the time and doesn't talk then it won't work. Obviously we'd have our own lives, but it would be nice to occasionally hang out for the evening.
