Description

My spare bedroom is available in a lovely 2-bed flat in East Sheen. It is about a 1-minute walk from Mortlake station, so quick and easy connections to Richmond, Clapham, Waterloo, and more. Available from early October, but there's some flexibility on that (my current lodger is moving abroad in late September).

I am open to Mon-Fri lets or similar and would obviously reduce the rent to reflect that.

The flat is above a bakery (dangerous, I know) and comprises two bedrooms, a shared bathroom, living/dining room, and separate kitchen. The kitchen has recently been completely renovated and your bedroom redecorated.

The bedroom is furnished, including a small double (130cm width), wardrobe (will upload new photo with this in once the room is empty), desk and chair, and bookcase.

If you aren't familiar with the area, East Sheen is lovely! Has a great selection of independent cafes, shops, bars, and restaurants. It's also a short walk from the flat to Richmond Park in one direction and the river path in the other (as well as Kew Gardens and Barnes Wetlands).

My understanding is that parking is available with a residents' permit, which you would have to arrange with Richmond council if needed.

The council tax band is C with Richmond Upon Thames.

The rent is £750/month excluding all bills. Heading into winter I would expect bills to come to around £350/month (including council tax), which we would split down the middle. So I guess somewhere in the region of £925 all in.

Finally, a little about me. I'm a legal academic, so you can expect the flat to be full of books. I work from home about half the week, and am usually out a few evenings a week. I like to keep the flat clean and tidy, so if you're quite messy it probably won't work. Big fan of the theatre, pub quizzes, and going on the occasional hike - so if any of those match your interests that's great. I want to live someone I can actually get on with, so if you are the type who stays in their bedroom all the time and doesn't talk then it won't work. Obviously we'd have our own lives, but it would be nice to occasionally hang out for the evening.
