The home

The big attraction is the large south-facing garden, with patio, pond, BBQ and summerhouse. It’s a genuinely useful outdoor space rather than just a small communal garden.

Inside there’s a comfortable shared living room, a recently refurbished kitchen, a shared bathroom and a separate WC.

You’re welcome to use the communal areas as you would in your own home — this isn’t a house where you are expected to disappear into your bedroom.

The flat is in SE17, Zone 1.

• Elephant & Castle and London Bridge are both around 15–20 minutes’ walk

Who you’ll be living with

At the moment it’s just me, Mark – I own the flat and live here – and Ozzy, my miniature schnauzer, who is friendly and very much part of the household. There’s also a third bedroom; I may let it in future, and if so I’ll talk to you first.

What living here is actually like

• I work from home and I’m a late person rather than an early riser.
• I’m sociable – happy to chat in the kitchen, share the garden, or have the odd film or drink – but I value my own space and expect you’ll want yours. Friendly, not forced.
• To be clear, I’m looking for a housemate I get on with, nothing more.
• Guests, including overnight, are fine – just give me a heads-up.
• Ozzy is my responsibility. You’d just need to be relaxed around dogs and keep doors and the garden gate shut.
• The bathroom is shared (currently just with me), and there’s a separate WC.

I’m looking for someone considerate, clean and respectful of shared spaces, who will enjoy living here and treat the place as a home.

Costs

£1,100 a month, everything included: gas, electricity, water, council tax (band C) and 1Gb broadband. Deposit £1,100. No other charges. Stays under 3 months: £1,200 a month.
