Double room + private bath | E&C | Zone 1/2

Hi, I’m Mirko. I’ve got a double room available from 1 November in my flat in SE17, about 10 minutes’ walk from Kennington station and 15 from Elephant & Castle (Zone 1/2).

It’s a ground-floor, 3-bed flat, but it’ll just be the two of us living here. I use the third bedroom as my office/guest room.

The room comes furnished with a double bed, big wardrobe, plenty of storage, desk, chair and monitor. It looks out onto a green area with lots of trees, which is one of my favourite things about the place.

You’ll also have your own bathroom, so no sharing with me. It’s recently been refurbished and has a walk-in shower.

The living room has a large corner sofa, 65” OLED TV, Apple TV and a very good sound system. There’s also a large kitchen with plenty of cupboard space, modern appliances, a washing machine and dishwasher.

Internet is symmetrical 1 Gbps fibre, with Wi-Fi and wired Ethernet in every room. I work from home myself, so I’ve made sure the setup is good for that. There’s also a garage where you can keep a bike.

Rent is £1,350 a month, including all bills and the regular cleaner.

The flat is in a lovely quiet spot surrounded by greenery, but Walworth Road is just around the corner, with supermarkets, cafés, gyms, takeaways and plenty of buses into central London.

A bit about me: I’m gay, work as a data engineer and have a PhD in Computer Science. I mostly work from home. I’m pretty sociable and enjoy seeing friends, but I like a calm home and appreciate my own space.

I’m also a bit of a film nerd, which probably explains the 65” OLED and sound system. The living room is great for film nights, so if you’re into films too, even better. And if not, I’m always happy to make a few good recommendations. I’m also into the gym and travelling, and occasionally have friends over for a film night.

I’ve had really good experiences with previous flatmates, both straight and gay, and I’d love to find that again. It’s nice to live with someone you can have a chat or a drink with now and then, while also being happy doing your own thing. Sexuality really doesn’t matter to me. Getting on with each other does.

Ideally I’d like to live with another male professional with a steady job, who’s tidy and respectful of shared spaces. Someone friendly and sociable who also enjoys a quiet home would probably suit me best.
