The room: This super-spacious double bedroom (5.4 metres long by 2.8 metres wide - absolutely huge!) is advertised for £1150, including all bills, excluding a kitty of £10 per month. It is officially available from the 11th of May, but there is scope to move in anytime before. I'm really intent on finding the right person however so can be somewhat flexible with move in times.
Featuring two large double-glazed windows looking onto our lovely residential street and garden, it is bright and airy, and the largest bedroom in the house, with its own landing. The bedroom features built-in wall shelves and basic furnishings, including a white wooden wardrobe (as shown in the photos), a wooden double bed frame, and a mattress, leaving you with a clear canvas to play around with!
Our location is fantastic:
5 minutes’ walk to Crouch Hill Station (Overground, Suffragette line)
10 minutes to Finsbury Park Station (Victoria Line & National Rail)
Surrounded by great cafés, eateries, green spaces, and running trails
The house itself offers:
One bathroom
A spacious kitchen/communal area with a cosy sofa
A laundry/drying room that you can hang and dry your laundry in (a rare London perk!)
A large, beautifully maintained garden
About us:
We’re a friendly, peaceful, and tidy household of 4 females. We get along very well - and two of my housemates are actually sisters! (occupying a room each). I am the tenant of the property. The property comprises 4 bedrooms in total. We don't have a gender preference, as long as you are very clean and respectful of our current household dynamics. We respect privacy and personal space, and are all more introvert-leaning but very friendly and enjoy catching up too. If you are highly extroverted or seek a very social/party household, this will not be a right fit. The house has a 'sanctuary' feel, super calm, which my existing housemates and I truly thrive in. We are also non smokers and we consume meat, however we respect your dietary choices and expect the same in return. Only thing to note is that the kitchen is fully stocked and there is not much room for additional pots and pans.
Who we are looking for:
Someone with an out-of-home working pattern/hybrid setup with a maximum of 2 days from home. Not ideal for students.
Cleanliness is extremely important to us - maintaining a consistently clean and orderly environment is essential, and I cannot overstate this enough. It's not a typical house where people lock themselves shut in their rooms at all times - we all utilise the shared spaces freely and comfortably, and we choose to leave our bedroom doors open when we are out of the house, which signals a huge sign of trust between us, and it just gives the home a more 'homely' feel - this is, of course, not obligatory, but we would prefer somebody who shares this value.
We have a cleaning rota in place, and each of us is assigned a week when we are in charge of cleaning and replacing bins. This has worked very well.
