Description
Hello! As my current flatmate is moving out, I’m looking for someone to join me in a lovely two-bedroom flat in Hackney. The room will be available from mid-to-end March, and you would be joining the existing tenancy agreement, which runs until 14 October 2025 with the option to renew at that point. The rent is £975 per month excluding bills. All bills are shared equally between both flatmates and these come to approximately £180 per month per person (Council Tax, energy, water, internet, insurance, TV licence), although this is lower during the spring/summer months.
About the flat:
The flat is bright, spacious, and well-maintained with modern finishes. The available room (2.94m x 2.58m) is a double room that comes fully furnished with a double bed with storage underneath, mattress, wardrobe, chest of drawers, and a large mirror. The kitchen is well-equipped with a large fridge freezer, gas hob, electric oven, dishwasher, and microwave. The bathroom is shared and has a shower/bath combo, heated towel rack, and storage space for toiletries. The shared living room is bright and welcoming with a TV, couch, sofa bed, desk, dining table, small balcony, and some house plants.
About the area:
The area is vibrant and lively, but the flat is located in a gated cobblestone mews with a courtyard shared with just five other flats, offering a calm and private environment. It is a 5-minute walk to Homerton Overground station, 8 minutes to Hackney Central, and 12 minutes to Hackney Downs, so it is easy to access central London, Stratford (18 mins), and Liverpool Street (25 mins) by train. Everything Hackney has to offer is close by, including Chatsworth Road Market and the Castle Cinema (5 min walk), Victoria Park (10 min walk), London Fields (15 min walk), and Broadway Market (20 min walk). There is a grocery shop at the entrance to the property, and a Co-op (3 min walk), Tesco Superstore (8 min walk), and M&S (8 min walk) nearby.
About me:
I’m originally from Ireland and I have been living in the flat since I moved to London two and a half years ago. Prior to moving here, I lived and worked in Paris for two years. I’m outgoing, friendly, and respectful of other people’s space. It’s important for me to make a house a home and to feel comfortable with the people I live with. In my free time, I like to meet up with friends or make the most of Hackney’s green spaces and I generally play padel tennis a few times a week.
I’m looking for a friendly, considerate, and reliable person who values maintaining a calm, relaxing, and comfortable home. I’m also looking for someone who is clean, tidy, and organised, who will help me look after the flat and maintain an inviting environment. The flat is perfect for someone who enjoys a balance between having a chat, chilling, or cooking at home, heading out to socialise, and respecting personal space. I would like to find someone who I can get to know a bit, and a good sense of humour is always welcome! Ideally, you would also work in the office or outside of the flat most of the time.
If you’re interested, please send a message with some information about yourself, what you’re looking for in a flat share, and your potential move-in date. I’d love to hear from you!
For referencing, you will need to earn at least 2.5x your share of the rent (£2,437.50).
