Description
My lovely flatmate of several years is moving out, so a double room is available in our home.
It comes unfurnished, but there's a built in wardrobe and space for a double bed, shelves, a small desk etc. My flatmate is also looking to sell her bed and mattress to the incoming tenant if they're interested.
We have a modern kitchen with a dining table and plenty of space for cooking. There's also a separate living room, as well as a garden(!) which is spacious and has a patio perfect for an evening meal or drink when the weather's nice. There's an upstairs bathroom with a shower, plus a toilet downstairs. There's plenty of storage throughout the house, and space to store a bike inside.
The location is pretty unbeatable. It’s around 5 min walk to Hackney Central overground, 15 min to Victoria Park, 10 min to London Fields. And there's lots of coffee shops, bakeries, pubs, and restaurants within 10 minutes walk towards London Fields, Well Street, or lower Clapton. There's a Tesco superstore literally just across the street, and lots of other small shops nearby. The house is handy for all that, but still feels quiet and peaceful since it’s not on a main road.
You'll be sharing with me - I'm 32, American, but I've lived in the UK for years and have been in this house for the last five years. I work for a climate NGO, and I go into the office at least a few days a week, but sometimes work from home too. I love going for walks around London, cooking up delicious veggie food, watching films, going to weekly dance classes, and going to events at east London’s queer spaces. Currently there is also a third tenant who is on an open-ended sublet: Georgi, who is 26, Bulgarian, and works in catering. So for the time being it would be a three person house, but at some point that could change.
I'm friendly and sociable, but also respectful of others' space with a busy life. We keep the home clean and peaceful, so I'm looking for someone similarly considerate, tidy and invested in making our house a home. Ideally looking for a woman or nonbinary person, late twenties or early thirties, who does not work from home full time.
Rent + bills: Rent is £750 pcm. Bills are additional. Split between three people gas, electricity, water, broadband are about £75-£100 per person each month, depending on usage. Council tax is also additional (band D).
The room is available from the 1st of April on a 12 month contract. If this sounds like the place for you, send a message with some info about yourself and we can arrange a viewing. Looking forward to meeting you!
