Description
(As long as the ad is still live, the room is still available!)
Hello there! We are looking for a lovely third person to join us in our spacious 3-bed house in Dalston.
The room is on the cozy side but there is more than enough space around the house: 3 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, big eat-in kitchen (with dishwasher), garden, utility room with washing machine, a big, separate living room, tons of storage all over the house (and an additional attic) and parking.
Your room is the only one on the first floor, together a private bathroom with bathtub and the living room. The room is a small double size with a built in wardrobe, a bed (no mattress) and a shelf, but you are also welcome to bring your own furniture.
Location couldn’t be better: The house is in walking distance to several overground stations: 10min to Hackney Central (Mildmay Line) and Hackney Downs (Weaver-10min to Liverpool Street) and 15min to Dalston Junction (Windrush). Bus stop basically in front of the house. It’s 2min walk from Hackney Downs Park and 10min to all the bustle of Dalston with its shops, restaurants, pubs, clubs and Ridley Road market.
A bit about us: We are two friends in our mid-30s/early. Larissa is a queer journalist turned PhD student (Politics). They enjoy cooking (vegetarian), heading to the pub, a nice gig, the odd rave or escaping the city all together for a hiking trip. Jose is a civil engineer. He enjoys dancing, hiking and keeping active.
We are looking for someone in their 30s, but flexible for the right person. It’s important to us to find someone who wants the house to be a home and who’s interested in building community, and isn’t just looking for a place to crash. While we have our independent lives, we also love spending time with our flatmates and usually have become friends with them in the past. So much nicer than living with strangers. We very much like a clean and friendly living environment. No party house, but we love to have friends over for dinner, BBQs, etc.
The boring stuff: The room is available October 27th (it may be possible to move in sooner). It’s £1000 pcm plus bills (approx. £150-200 pcm - less if you are a student, as that would mean keeping our council tax discount). You would be added to the lease and have to pass reference checks, but they seemed rather relaxed.
If you think you could be a good fit, message us with a little about you, so we get an idea whether we could be a match. Messages without that will be ignored. (and please tell us your favourite hot drink, so that we know that you have read the whole ad).
Looking forward to meeting you!
PS: Just to give you a heads up - the landlady wants to raise the rent at some point. We don't know when exactly/how much yet but hope to negotiate it to £50 pp max (hopefully less)
