Double room in a beautiful, cosy flat right by Hackney Downs Park 🌿
I’m looking for a new flatmate to share my very cosy and comfortable flat, in what I honestly think is one of the best locations in Hackney.
The flat is literally one step from Hackney Downs Park, around a 5-minute walk from Hackney Downs station, and about 10 minutes from Hackney Central and Dalston. You’re surrounded by some of the best bars, restaurants, cafés, cinemas, clubs, gyms and yoga studios in East London, while the flat itself is on a very quiet and peaceful street. It’s a really nice balance of having everything on your doorstep while still feeling like you’re away from the noise when you’re at home.
The flat
The living room is probably my favourite part of the flat. It’s modern, very comfortable and set up for actually enjoying being at home — there’s a 60-inch Samsung 4K OLED TV, studio monitor speakers with a subwoofer, PS5, turntable and records, atmospheric LED lighting and a modern ethanol fireplace.
The kitchen is also very well equipped, with a dishwasher, modern microwave/oven, a second oven, large fridge, washing machine/dryer and pretty much everything you could need for cooking. I love cooking, so there are plenty of plates, pans, utensils and all the usual bits and pieces.
The room itself is a good-sized double, and the flat is a proper home rather than just somewhere to sleep.
About me
I’ve lived and worked around Hackney for many years, so I know the area extremely well and have accumulated a ridiculous amount of recommendations for good food, drinks, music and things to do.
I work in music, run a small record-selling business on the side, and also work part-time at a local sauna — which is convenient because I’m a big sauna enthusiast myself. I’m quite active and health-conscious: I go to the gym about 3 minutes from the flat, do yoga at a couple of studios nearby, swim at London Fields Lido and generally try to keep a good balance between being active and enjoying myself.
I also play DJ gigs around London from time to time, so I’m often out at concerts, clubs and other music-related things.
When I’m home, I love cooking, listening to music, watching films or series and generally having a quiet evening. I’m quite independent and spend a lot of time outside the house, but I also really enjoy having a nice relationship with my flatmate — cooking together occasionally, having a drink, watching something, or inviting friends over for food every now and then.
So I’d ideally like to find someone who has a similar balance: independent and respectful of quiet time, but friendly and sociable too. Someone who takes care of their home, enjoys good food and music, and generally has their own interests and passions.
I’m very open-minded about what those interests are — I love meeting people who are genuinely passionate about something, whether that’s music, art, food, sport, travelling, work, or something completely different. I’m also always up for a good, deep conversation.
🐈 And then there’s Finny
There is one very important requirement: you need to love animals, because you’ll be living with Finny.
Finny is my cat and genuinely one of the most easygoing, friendly and chilled-out cats you could meet. He absolutely loves being petted, is very clean and discreet, and is generally just happy to hang out around the flat doing his own thing.
He’s also extremely friendly — I’m pretty sure he’ll decide you’re his new best friend on the same day you move in. 😂 He’ll probably come to greet you, ask for some attention and then happily carry on with his day.
So if you’re a cat person, you’ll probably love having him around. Being comfortable and happy living with animals is essential, as Finny is very much part of the household.
The flat is a really nice place to live, and I’d love to find someone who feels the same way and wants to make it feel like a home rather than just a room in a shared flat.
If this sounds like your kind of place, send me a message and tell me a little bit about yourself!
