Description
A mezzanine room is becoming available in our house from 10th November, and we're looking for someone to stay long term.
The house is about 5–10 minutes' walk from both Hackney Central and Hackney Downs stations, with loads of great cafés, bars, restaurants and green spaces nearby. Hackney Downs, London Fields and the canal are all within easy reach - so it's a particularly good spot if you enjoy being outdoors.
The house has three bedrooms, a kitchen, a bathroom and a laundry room. We don't have a living room, but all three bedrooms have mezzanine beds, which means there's plenty of useful space underneath to work, relax or store your things and extra storage space in the flat.
The room comes either unfurnished or partly furnished (if needed we can provide a mattress, a desk and a chest of drawers).
The ceilings are very high, so the house feels bright and spacious.
I uploaded pictures of the room with two different arrangements (one is a little cosier, another one is the 'if you have a lot of stuff to store' version).
There are three of us living here:
Roberto (me) — 36, a film artist. I also work in a museum and am currently working on a new feature film and always up for a chat
Arianna & Toby — a super-lovely British/Italian couple, Toby (32) is a big music fan and IT remote professional and Ari (28) is a literature researcher; currently only Toby is in the house (Ari will join us again in the flat next year!)
The vibe at home is very relaxed and easy-going. We're looking for someone with a similar attitude and a good sense of respect for shared spaces - keeping things clean and ready for the next person to use.
Everyone has their own space and privacy, but we're also friendly and enjoy chatting when we bump into each other in the kitchen, or occasionally having a wine or beer together in the park.
The rent is £700 per month, which includes council tax, internet and water bills.
The only additional costs are gas, electricity and a fortnightly cleaner, which together come to a maximum of around £50 extra per person per month.
There is no agency fee. The deposit is £700.
We're looking for someone who is clean, considerate and enjoys a relaxed, friendly household. Always bonus points if you are an artist or a fellow creative!
If you're interested, send me a message with a little bit about yourself, what you do, and what you're looking for in a house share.
