Description
Looking for a kindred spirit to join me and my 1 year old kitten Pickles in our unfurnished 2 bed 1 bath duplex flat in Hackney.
About the flat:
The property is located on the second floor of an ex-council estate (there's a lift) on a quiet street just 5 mins walk from Hackney Downs. The flat includes a bright kitchen with gas hob, a separate living room upstairs, and a bathroom with a tub and separate toilet. The place has a ton of built-in storage, hardwood flooring and lots of natural light throughout. It's located just 6 mins by foot from Hackney Downs station (Weaver Line) and 10 mins from Hackney Central (Mildmay Line), with several bus connections just steps from our front door. While occasional guests are welcome, this is not a party flat. *Please note*: since the bathroom and toilet are up a flight of 15 steps, this flat may not be suitable for those with limited mobility*
About the room:
The room is HUGE (18 sq m) and is located on the lower floor of the flat next to the kitchen. There are massive windows overlooking a quiet common, built in storage, and a wardrobe and dresser included, The room is otherwise unfurnished and ready for you to bring your own personal flair!
About your flatmate:
I'm a 30 year old genderqueer Congolese-American who recently completed an MA in Anthropology of Food at SOAS. A foodie to my core, I love to cook and can talk endlessly about food history and culture. A true ambivert, I love a good chat over tea and drinks but am also respectful of the need for quiet time and will ask for the same. I'm quite creative and artistic with a love of singing, dancing, music, and crafts. I'm also fairly witchy and have a Taurus stellium (iykyk), so energetic harmony, cosiness, and comfort are my top priority in the home.
About you:
Ideally you're also 30+, queer, and a person of colour, though anyone who ticks two of the three will be considered. You must be able to pass referencing checks, as you will be added to the letting agreement and tenant's insurance. You should be tidy, a direct communicator, emotionally self-aware, and willing to contribute to a warm and welcoming home environment. Absolutely NO TERFS/SWERFS/ZI0S!
To make sure you made it this far, please include your favourite kind of dessert or pastry when replying to this ad :) talk soon!
