Description
Hi! I'm moving on to somewhere quieter, and I'd love to hand my room over to someone who will enjoy it as much as I have. It's a furnished double in a lovely two-floor flat right next to Haggerston station, with a Tesco next door and Liverpool Street only about 15 minutes away on foot. You'll have everything on your doorstep, and you can move in whenever suits you.
Your room
The double bedroom is on the first floor and comes with a bed, wardrobe and sideboard. There's plenty of space for a desk and chair, so it works really well if you want to work from home. You also get your own little bathroom on the same floor. It's just a sink and a toilet (no shower), and the shower is in the shared bathroom upstairs.
Your housemate, Maria
You'll be living with Maria, who is honestly great fun and really easy to live with. She's 35, from Belfast, and works in compliance in the City. She's in the office every day and goes to the gym after work, so she's usually home around 8pm. She loves seeing friends, going out, a good rave and techno and house music, and she travels quite a bit. It's a relaxed, friendly home, and I'm sure you'll get on well.
The flat
Upstairs you'll find the shared bathroom, a living room with an open kitchen, a storage room and Maria's room. There's also a balcony, which is lovely for a morning coffee or a drink in the evening. The living room has a sofa and a sideboard, so if you have furniture of your own to bring, it would be a lovely addition. If not, no problem at all. Maria is planning to buy a few bits for the flat, which you'll share. The kitchen is fully stocked with plates, glasses, pots, pans and a kettle, and there's a washing machine, dishwasher, fridge, microwave and Wi-Fi.
The details
• Rent: £1,275 per month
• Rent period: always runs from the 11th to the 10th of the following month, with rent due on the 11th
• Bills: about £150 per month (a bit less in summer, a bit more in winter, depending on heating)
• Deposit: £1,471.15, paid by you when you take over
• Move-in date: completely flexible
Next steps
It would be great if you could get in touch, introduce yourself and tell me a little about you. Finding someone who gets on well with Maria matters a lot to us, so the next step is a viewing. You can see the room and the flat, and meet Maria to see if there's a connection.
If you both feel it's a good fit, there's a reference check through our current agent. If you pass, you pay the deposit, which is protected in a deposit protection scheme. We'll do a deposit swap, so you're added as the owner of the deposit when you take over the tenancy.
You're welcome to move in before 11 January if you'd like. If you do, we'll work out the rent for the days you're here in the current rent period, and you'd pay that to me directly. After that, you'd pay rent as normal on the 11th of each month.
I'd love to hear from you!
