Large room in bright, leafy house in Finsbury Park

Hi! Two of our housemates are leaving us after three happy years together, so we have two rooms available in our wonderful, queer-friendly Stroud Green houseshare.

Just to say from the outset that, unfortunately, we can't take pets, couples or students, due to conditions set by our letting agent and landlord. We're also looking for someone around our age (30-40).

The first room available (£1145 pcm) is a very large double at almost 20m2, situated at the back of the house where it gets beautiful light in the morning. It has an ornamental fireplace plus two large sash windows. It's a great, adaptable space that has plenty of room to spread out. It comes with a wardrobe and chest of drawers, and the current tenant's open to a chat if you're interested in the bookcase, desk or bed frame.

The second room (£1065 pcm) is a good-sized double, situated at the top of the house. The room is bright and airy, and the window alcove has incredible views towards Finsbury Park and east London. There's a built-in storage cupboard, and it comes with a chest of drawers, a bed frame and mattress (these can be removed if you'd prefer to bring your own). There's also access to additional storage space on the top floor.

The rooms are both available to move in on 10th October 2026.

We're a sociable house: although we all have our own lives and interests, we get along really well and enjoy each other's company when we're home. We try and always have a series we noisily binge together. It's definitely somewhere you can call home, rather than just a house.

We share a large kitchen/dining room where we spend our evenings cooking and chatting, and occasionally opening a bottle with friends. There’s a living room with sofas and a big TV where the Traitors/Rivals/White Lotus etc. binges happen. There’s also a home office that fits two people, which means even when we're all working from home, we're never on top of each other.

There’s a big and bright bathroom on the first floor, and a large utility room and toilet in the basement, which leads out to a very large garden. SpareRoom limits the number of photos we can post, so it’s hard to accurately depict how massive and lovely the house is!

The house has four bedrooms in total. The other two rooms are taken by Clare (she/her) and Sil (they/them), who work in the civil service and medical writing respectively. This is a long-term houseshare - Clare moved in in 2020 for somewhere spacious and quiet to ride out the pandemic, and Sil moved in at the start of this year. Although we are on a flexible lease, we're looking for people who want to stick around for a while.

We all pitch in to help keep the house clean and the garden green. We're looking for housemates who will do their fair share of cleaning, and you'd definitely get bonus points if you've got a green thumb or have DIY talent.

We are two minutes from Harringay Station, and about 15 from Finsbury Park Station. This also puts us right in the middle of Crouch End, Finsbury Park and Green Lanes, which means delicious bakeries, food shops, pubs, coffee places, leafy walks and bottle shops are all on our doorstep. We're really lucky to live in such a nice part of London.

Bills, cleaning supplies and other small shared expenses etc. are typically £185-190 a month. We manage everything on a joint Monzo account which keeps everything low stress.
