Cozy Single room & Double room in Herne Hill

Hey there! We are looking for 2 new friends to join our friendly shared house at Herne Hill. Our lovely housemates recently found a new place as a couple so we are looking for someone keen on a good vibe!

What do we offer 🙆‍♀️🙆‍♂️

The people:
Katniss is a filmmaker from Hong Kong. Max is from Canada and works at a production company.

The rooms:

Room 1: Double Room
£716.62 plus £37.38 council tax = £754.00 total
Spacious furnished bedroom with a double bed. Possible to fit in an extra desk and some other furniture.

Room 2: Single Room
£468.56 plus £37.38 council tax = £505.94 total
Smaller-sized room with a single bed and wardrobe. It can be used either as a study or a bedroom.

*Apart from just renting one room, we are also open to anyone who would love to take two rooms for themselves which means £1260 total (Room 1 as bedroom + Room 2 as study).

Move-in date: Around mid-September, might be possible to move in earlier but TBC.

The house:
There are four bedrooms rooms, one bathroom/kitchen/living room/garden, all for communal purposes. We have bi-weekly cleaners over and share the cleaning duties in between. The cost of utility and cleaning supplies are also shared between everyone. The main bonus is you will be getting a free cat to play with (from the neighbours).

The extra bucks:
Bills will be split equally between all housemates. It depends on the season but in general around £70- £150 for everything (electricity, gas, water, wifi, bi-weekly cleaner, cleaning supplies/utility etc.).

The neighbourhood:
It is a very quiet and lovely neighbourhood. A lot of families around which makes it very safe. Short walking distance to Herne Hill/North Dulwich/Denmark Hill train stations. 30-minute walk/15 mins bus ride to Brixton tube station. In general, it takes around 40 mins to Central London which comes in handy. TFL fare Zone 2/3.

What do we want 😎

We want someone who is in their late twenties to early thirties to match our age group. To keep the balance of the house, ideally, we want one guy and one girl. Preferably a non-smoker and someone who is not 100% working from home (unless you are getting both rooms for yourself). We want someone who is looking for a long-term place as well.

To be the right match, we are looking for someone who is up for hanging out in the house or going out together occasionally. Of course, we all have our own social life but we don't want someone who only spends time in their room. Besides this, we also want someone respectful to the house/each other, communicative, easy-going and willing to take good care of the house by keeping it clean and sharing responsibility. Max and I both love travelling and have lived in other countries before living in London, so if you are curious about other cultures, love to chat, are open to new stuff and have a good time, we are looking for similar souls 🙂

Last but not least, Max is a found supporter of Liverpool and I have absolutely no interest in football, but for the sake of tradition, you would get an extra point from me if you are a Man United fan 😉
