Cozy Single room in Herne Hill

Hey there! We are looking for a new friend to join our friendly shared house in Herne Hill. Our lovely housemate will be moving back to the US soon, so we are looking for someone who bring a good vibe !

What we offer 🙆‍♀️🙆‍♂️

The people:
Katniss is a filmmaker from Hong Kong. Max is from Canada and works at a production company. Abbie is English and works in accounting.

The room:

A Single Room
£492 plus £39.12 council tax = £531.12 total

Smaller-sized room with a single bed and a wardrobe.

Move-in date: The earliest move-in day is around 18th December.

The house:
There are four bedrooms and then one bathroom/one kitchen/one living room/garden, all for communal purposes. We have bi-weekly cleaners over and share the cleaning duties in between. The cost of utility and cleaning supplies is also shared between everyone. The biggest bonus is that you will be getting a free cat to play with (from the neighbours).

The extra bucks:
Bills will be split equally between all housemates. It depends on the season but in general they are around £70- £150 for everything (electricity, gas, water, wifi, bi-weekly cleaner, cleaning supplies/utility etc.).

Since we moved in, we have all chipped in a fee to furnish the place (TV, electric drying rack, fire stick, etc.), so whoever is taking the room will have to “buy” our housemate Dan (the one who is moving out) out for £120. Similarly when (if !!) you ever decide to leave the new tenant will buy you out !!

The neighbourhood:
It is a very quiet and lovely neighbourhood. A lot of families around which make it very safe. Short walking distance to Herne Hill/North Dulwich/Denmark Hill train stations. 30-minute walk/15 mins bus ride to Brixton tube station. In general, it takes around 40 mins to Central London which comes in handy. TFL fare Zone 2/3.

What do we want 😎

We want someone who is in their late twenties to early thirties to match our age group. To keep the balance of the house, ideally, we want a guy. Preferably, a non-smoker and someone who is not 100% working from home. We want someone who is looking for a long-term place as well.

To be the right match, we are looking for someone who is up for hanging out in the house or going out together occasionally. Of course, we all have our own social lives but we don't want someone who only spends time in their room. We also want someone respectful to the house/each other, communicative, easy-going and willing to take good care of the house by keeping it very clean and sharing responsibility. We (Abbie, Max and I) all love travelling and have lived in other countries before living in London, so if you are curious about other cultures, love to chat, are open to new stuff and have a good time, we are looking for similar souls 🙂
