Description
Bright, spacious double room overlooking a quiet courtyard —
exceptionally peaceful for central London.
The bedroom, kitchen and bathroom are away from the street.
Council Tax and broadband are included.
Gas and electricity are shared according to usage.
The room includes:
* Desk
* Fridge and kettle
* Blackout curtains
Top-floor flat in a quiet building with mostly elderly neighbours.
No noise from above — it’s not a party flat.
Just a 5-minute walk from Holborn and Tottenham Court Road stations, with two parks within 3–5 minutes. Ideally located for UCL, LSE, KCL, SOAS, Birkbeck, Great Ormond Street Hospital and UCLH.
The flat is two doors from where the philosopher Bertrand Russell once lived.
I’m a friendly published author — quiet and clean — looking for someone who values a peaceful home, interesting conversation from time to time, and understands shared living by keeping communal spaces clean and contributing to shared household essentials.
I’d prefer to share my home with someone who enjoys learning, reading, travel, culture and good conversation. I love technology — I used to work at Bloomberg — but I’m not a social-media person and prefer using tech rather than being ruled by it. I’m currently learning Runway to make short-form videos to promote my novel.
(I actually switched back to a Nokia in 2019 and have never regretted it. I use a smartphone occasionally when travelling — for Uber, for example — and for the occasional WhatsApp message, but that’s about it.)
I’ve travelled to 55 countries, so books, ideas, places, different cultures and an interest in the wider world are much more my thing.
I’m vegetarian 🌱, but you don’t need to be. That said, it would be lovely to live with someone who is similarly thoughtful about the environment.
Short stays of 2–3 months are welcome.
I’m also flexible about the move-in date where possible. A longer-term stay may be negotiable at a slightly preferential rate for the right person.
I’d appreciate a short introduction about yourself — your hobbies and interests, intended length of stay and preferred move-in date.
If the advert is live, the room is still available.
Thanks,
Tony
