We have a room to rent in our property. We would be live-in landlords and our current housemate who has lived with us for a year is moving back to Japan ;(

Ideal for a masters student or someone who works hybrid/freelance: Love of dogs and cats is a must as you will live with Agnes (Vizsla) and Bernadette (Burmese cat).

The green room with OTT mirror is yours - showing colour of walls but unfortunately not the size! It’s a double room and easily fits a desk.

The property

The house has been recently refurbished to a very high standard. There is a lovely well-maintained private garden which is perfect for summertime barbecues and drinks. The kitchen is lovely and new and has under-floor heating. There is wood flooring throughout all 3 bedrooms: one bedroom is used as a guest room/study which you can of course use, and you will have the other spare room.

Miele washing machine, dishwasher and oven. Induction hobs etc. superfast WiFi.

Your room

It is a spacious top-floor double bedroom with loads of natural light. Stairs make it inaccessible to those with mobility issues.

It is fully furnished with a double bed, stand-alone wardrobe and chest of drawers with more storage available throughout the house. There is also a large wall mirror.

There is enough space to add a desk for WFH and/or a large reading chair, making it a perfect self-contained living space.

The house has 2 bathrooms and an extra downstairs toilet. Although not connected, the bathroom is essentially yours as we have an en suite.

A bit about us

We are a couple and have been together for about seven years.

Aaron is a hospital doctor and can usually be seen running around Victoria Park, or buying overpriced bread from the Village. He normally has a coffee in hand. Aaron was born in Berlin, grew up in Norfolk and is a gay male.

Bart is a solicitor at a law firm in the City. He’s from Edinburgh originally but left there when he was 15. He enjoys cooking and hosting lavish dinner parties, as well as going to a ridiculous gym to stay in shape. He likes gardening and is proud of our lovely garden. Bart speaks Italian and Japanese and also teaches some Latin as a hobby at the weekend. Bart is a gay male.

We have a 9 year old Hungarian Vizsla called Agnes and an indoor Burmese cat called Bernadette.

A bit about you:

We are looking for a professional or graduate student who doesn't leave the kitchen in a mess and respects shared spaces, but equally won’t treat the place like a hotel and genuinely wants to have a “home”. You have to be happy sharing with a gay couple and be not too insane. You also need to like dogs and cats - they’re part of the family!

No couples please (official and unofficial) and whilst it’s fine for friends to stay over if they’re visiting London and use the spare room, we can’t accommodate partners staying over regularly. Sorry! Better to be clear about that from the off. Due to a variety of factors (happy to discuss) we also have to be strict about no illegal drugs in the house at any time - and no smoking. That said, this is not a T Total home.

WFH is fine as we are generally out during the day, and means Agnes and Bernadette can provide you with distractions.
