Description
We’re looking for a new flatmate for our 3-bed ground floor flat in Homerton.
The room is an absolute steal for London at £550 + bills (approx £100 a month) and comes furnished with a bed/mattress and wardrobe. It’s a decent size and big enough to fit a desk in if you work from home.
The flat is small, modern and functional - we don’t have a living room unfortunately, but there is a small sofa and dining table in the kitchen. There’s no garden but there is a communal green space outside, and it’s very close to Hackney Marshes and Victoria Park, which are both amazing places to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
It’s round the corner from Homerton overground station and there are plenty of buses. There’s a Co-op down the road, Tesco and Lidl nearby, a community cinema and plenty of pubs - plus Chatsworth Road down the street. Hackney Central is closeby and the flat is a really great location, situated on a very family-oriented, chilled housing estate. We’ve never had any issues living here and it’s pretty quiet. There’s also space to keep a bike locked up outside if needed.
You’ll be living with Conor and Charlie, who have both lived here since January. We're both veggie, and do a mix of office and hybrid working. Here’s a bit about us:
Conor, 34, is a social researcher. He enjoys cooking, reading, painting and cutting about London on his bike. He’s also into running and playing rugby, and likes going to gigs and galleries.
Charlie, 34, is a freelance journalist and audio producer. She cooks a lot and likes reading, going to the cinema, running, dancing, yoga, going to galleries, festivals and exploring East London.
We’re looking for someone who wants to stay long term and is around the same age, mature, responsible and happy to chip in with keeping things clean and tidy - ideally someone who we get on well with, and have some shared interests too! It's not a party flat and we both are busy with different schedules, so someone who has their own thing going on would probably be the best fit.
The move in date is November 1st and you’ll need to send a deposit of £583 to the flatmate who is leaving. We're looking for someone who is in employment, as the landlord requires a reference check. To keep things fair we all manage at least one of the household bills, so you would be expected to take over the energy account if you moved in. The rent is payable to Conor by the 1st of every month, who then sends it to the landlord, as he likes to receive it in one lump sum.
We've previously had issues with rent and bills being paid on time, so just to reiterate that payments can't be late - we have a really good deal with the landlord, who has not put the rent up in years, and would like to keep it this way!
If you’re interested, send us a message with a bit about you and what you’re looking for in a flatshare and we’ll get back to you ASAP :)
We're hoping to have viewings on the 26th/27th and possibly evenings that week, so if you could indicate when you're available that would be great.
