Description
We’re looking for a new flatmate for our 3-bed ground floor flat in Homerton!
The room is the biggest room in the flat, just off the kitchen, and is excellent value for the area, at £650 + bills (approx £100 a month). It comes furnished with a bed/mattress, wardrobe and desk. Lots of storage space and a big window.
The flat is small, modern and functional - we don’t have a living room unfortunately, but there is a small sofa and dining table in the kitchen. There’s no garden but there is a communal green space outside, and it’s very close to Hackney Marshes and Victoria Park, which are both amazing places to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
It’s round the corner from Homerton overground station and there are plenty of buses. There’s a Co-op down the road, Tesco and Lidl nearby, a community cinema and plenty of pubs - plus Chatsworth Road down the street. Hackney Central is closeby and the flat is a really great location, situated on a very family-oriented, chilled housing estate. We’ve never had any issues living here and it’s pretty quiet. There’s also space to keep a bike locked up outside if needed.
You’ll be living with Tyler (29) and Charlie (34). We're both veggie and like cooking, so will often catch up and have a chat whilst in the kitchen, or might do the occasional pub trip, but otherwise we're busy with our own schedules. It would probably suit someone who already has their own thing going on, and is looking for a calm, chilled out space to come back to. Definitely not a party flat and we don't tend to have people round often as there's not much space.
We appreciate a clean home so take it in turns to clean the kitchen/bathroom and floors, and always wash up /put dishes away. We're looking for someone who is also happy to chip in with keeping things clean and tidy.
Tyler, 29, is an actor and works as a tour guide at Shakespeare's Globe Theatre. He loves theatre, TV, film, art and Shakespeare, and is often out and about with friends.
Charlie, 34, is an audio producer and journalist. She likes reading, going to the cinema, salsa dancing, going to the cinema, galleries, music gigs, the gym/running/yoga and generally exploring East London.
We’re looking for someone who wants to stay long term and is around the same age, mature, responsible - ideally someone who we get on well with, and have some shared interests too! We both love arts and culture. Bonus points if you don't work from home.
The move in date is October 1st and you’ll need to send a deposit to the flatmate who is leaving. We're looking for someone who is in employment, as the landlord requires a reference check. To keep things fair we all manage at least one of the household bills, so you would be expected to take over one if you moved in. The rent is payable to one tenant by the 1st of every month, who then sends it to the landlord, as he likes to receive it in one lump sum.
We've previously had issues with rent and bills not being paid on time, so just to reiterate that payments can't be late - we have a really good deal with the landlord, who has not put the rent up in years, and would like to keep it this way!
We're hoping to have viewings next week on Monday/Wednesday/Friday in the evening - so if you're interested, send us a message with a bit about you and what you’re looking for in a flatshare, plus your availability and we’ll get back to you ASAP :)
