Room in Spacious, Modern Two-Bed Apartment

A comfortable single/double room in a spacious two-bed apartment. The available room comes furnished with a single bed which can pull out to a double, as well as a wardrobe and chest of drawers, and floor to ceiling windows which let in a lot of light when you want, and black-out curtains for when you don’t.

The apartment is on the first floor of a small modern apartment building on a quiet residential street. There is a large living/dining/kitchen area running the length of the apartment, with ample seating and dining space, and includes an OLED TV, XBox One X and high-end hifi (not in pictures as it’s currently boxed and waiting to be set up). The kitchen area has a lot of space, with loads of storage, a large fridge-freezer, and the usual mod cons like a dishwasher. The apartment has views of the London Eye and technically Big Ben, although the latter isn’t much to look at at the moment, as it’s covered in scaffolding.

There’s a spacious balcony which is great to have at this time of year, a well-fitted bathroom, and a utility area with a washer-dryer and some additional storage space. There are wood floors throughout the living area and hall, and the bedrooms are carpeted. There’s 150Mb fiber-optic broadband, and the apartment is wired up to be able to get Sky TV (although currently we get by just fine with Netflix, Amazon, Now TV, etc.). There’s a cleaner who comes once every two weeks, and even aside from that we keep the apartment in pretty good condition.

The apartment is very well situated, about a 15 minute walk to Waterloo or Westminster, and not that much further to St James’s Park, Southbank or Covent Garden. It’s located between the Kennington, Lambeth North and Vauxhall tube stations, and there are many bus lines which pass by, which gives ample transport options, although I’ve found myself walking almost everywhere since I moved in. It’s ideal for someone who works within walking or cycling distance.

You’ll be sharing with me, a 33-year old Irish guy who works as a software developer for a financial technology company. I’m an avid photographer, and also enjoy video games, good TV, movies and music. I’m pretty easy going and sociable, and always up for a pint on a Friday, or just hanging around the apartment watching a movie. I work reasonably long hours during the week, and I’m often out exploring London or meeting up with friends on the weekend. I don’t smoke or have pets.
