Description
This is a single room in a flatshare in the Lohmann House estate. There is a shared bathroom and kitchen between 4.
Key information:
Location: very close to Oval underground station (3 minute walk), a post office, bus stop, and Nisa. Also a 15-20 minute walk to Lidl (or quicker by underground).
Literally across the road from the Oval stadium. It is within an estate - to get in, you use an electronic key. The neighbours on either side are friendly and helpful (e. g., for missed deliveries).
Room: already furnished, comes with a double bed, wardrobe, set of drawers, and table. Lots of natural light from the large window overlooking the bed. It's pretty relaxing when it is raining. Note: the weird poster; bedsheets; and old wooden furniture are mine (sorry!).
The shared amenities are incredibly average: a shower-bath combo, a toilet, and small shared kitchen. There is a light cleaning Rota.
The main downside is that there is no shared living room.
Flatmates: a nice guy who is an Environmental science major to the left, and a waitress in a fancy Italian restaurant at the end of the corridor. To the right is an older Greek caterer for Deloitte. To be honest, I barely meet anyone other than the student since the other two work very long shifts. The kitchen is barely used as a result. It sometimes feels like I have the flat to myself.
Landlord: responsive, helpful. Replaced the hob within a week when it broke.
Bills: around £12 for water per month, and then £30-40 for electricity/gas.
If interested:
Step 1: message me and we can arrange a viewing. Online viewings are preferred, but if you want to come in person that is also possible. I work as a high school teacher so evenings on weekdays / weekends better.
I've looked on spareroom myself so know how annoying it can be. I'll respond to you within 24 hours at the latest, and will try to make a decision within the same time. Criteria for selection:
(a) Being able to move in at the right time (early Feb)
(b) Willing to pay current rent
(c) Otherwise first come first serve.
Step 2: after viewing, if you are satisfied, I will put you in contact with the landlord. They will want you to sign a lease. If you want, I can give you advice for organising this.
Once you sign (for a lease starting in early Febuary), then it's all done and sorted. I'll cancel all other viewings at this stage.
They will want a deposit (1 month rent) before giving you the keys, but this will come off the next months rent.
I'll only be checking messages here.
