Homeshare in great location in Lambeth

This room is being advertised on behalf of a friendly lady in her 80s. She is seeking someone to share her home at a low cost in exchange for some light help around the home.

In return for low-cost accommodation of £240 pcm, she would like approximately 10 hours of support each week. Generally, tasks would include warming up a pre-prepared evening meal, hanging up laundry that has already been washed by the carers, providing companionship, and sleeping overnight five nights per week (support is not required overnight, just your presence in the home to provide reassurance). The householder receives support from carers throughout the day, so the Homeshare role is primarily to provide companionship in the evenings and overnight reassurance. The Householder is open to flexible work schedules, though someone working nights would not be suitable.

The home is in a lovely location in South Bank, just a few minutes' walk from Lambeth North Underground Station, with excellent transport links and easy access to local shops and amenities. You will have your own furnished bedroom and access to the shared facilities within the home.

The ideal sharer would be female (as requested by the householder), 21+, friendly, kind, compassionate, tidy and caring. The householder is of Moroccan heritage and speaks mostly Arabic, so they would only consider an Arabic speaker. Someone with a calm, patient nature who enjoys providing companionship would be particularly well suited.

The householder is 81 years old and became bedbound following a stroke several years ago. She receives support from carers seven days a week with all of her personal care needs. The Homesharer will not be expected to provide any personal care, but instead to offer companionship, assist with a few light tasks and provide reassurance by being present in the home overnight.

As part of our Homesharing scheme, you will need to have or apply for a recent DBS check and provide two references who have known you for at least a year. You will also need to complete an application form which you can download or complete on our website.

The only fees payable are our monthly fee of £240 pcm (plus an additional deposit of £240). A DBS fee of £50 is required and will be requested if you are successful.
