Description
Hello! We’re looking for someone to share our house from 1st July until our lease expires in May 2025 – potentially with the option of extending but TBC with our landlord.
The House
The house is equidistant between Clapton and Walthamstow, nearest station Lea Bridge (connects to Tottenham Hale for the Victoria line or Stratford for everything else) – a stone’s throw from Hackney Marshes and Walthamstow Wetlands. The house has three bedrooms and a lovely kitchen, complete with a kitchen island and connected lounge. The kitchen was renovated fairly recently with induction hobs and a fancy eco dishwasher (that we rarely use). The highlight for us is our lovely garden that we take good care of – currently growing various veggies and flowers – with bifold doors into the kitchen that make it perfect for a summer BBQ! There’s an upstairs bathroom with toilet and a downstairs toilet. Plenty of storage spaces and an attic if needing to store anything larger. Plus there’s a bike shed in the front garden. It's really a lovely family home that we’ve been lucky enough to find ourselves renting. The landlord is a lovely guy who currently lives abroad with his family but is super easy-going to deal with – really responsive when needed but mostly leaves us to it.
The room that’s available is upstairs and is the largest in the house. It’s furnished, with a large wardrobe and a desk if you need to work from home. The room faces the street, but this gets very little traffic as it’s not a through road – it’s generally a nice, quiet area!
The Housemates
Rich: Early 30s, from the north west, works as a medical writer. Excellent moustache and very decent dress sense. A slut for all things music. Loves sport. One of those annoying healthy/fit people that can run a half marathon without training. Enjoys yoga/exercise, surfing, films, Everton and dry humour. Works from home 3–4 days of the week.
Elsa: Early 30’s, Assistant Director in Film from East Sussex. As a freelancer my schedule is varied but I tend to be out of the house around 3 days per work week. I’m pretty active and enjoy climbing, cycling and yoga. I can be a bit of a homebody and love to cook, work on the garden, watch films and read, but I also love the outdoors (hiking/camping) and an eve at the pub. Occasionally my family dog comes to visit for a bit, he’s a golden retriever called Paddington and likes carrots and protecting us from pigeons.
Who we’re looking for
As you can maybe tell we’re both house proud and looking for someone who is similarly tidy and respectful and wants to keep the house nice. While we enjoy some solo down time and are often out and about, we’re both good friends and enjoy a social vibe in the house so we’re looking for someone who is down to hang out sometimes and wants to create a fun house share. The place is perfect for a BBQ and some garden beers in the summer! Ideally you will have plenty of experience of living in shared houses, be aged late 20s to mid 30s, and be in fulltime employment. We’re a liberal, LGBTQI+ friendly household and looking for someone likeminded please. Tell us a bit about yourself in your message!
Money bits
Rent is £800pm. Thames water + Council Tax £86pm (Council Tax Band D). Electric and gas varies seasonally but generally comes to about £30-35 each pm. Wifi £10.33. Bi-weekly cleaner £20pm.
Total ~£951.33pcm
Viewings
We’re hoping to do some viewings on Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th June, but if that doesn’t work for you we can try to fit a visit in one weekday evening.
Looking forward to hearing from you :)
