If you’re looking for a calm, welcoming base during the week — and you’d love the company of four charming rescue cats and a sunny garden — this might be just the place for you. I’ve hosted several Mon–Fri lodgers before, and it’s always worked brilliantly.

The house is a spacious Edwardian three-bed on the Leyton/Leytonstone border, just 5 minutes from Francis Road — one of Time Out’s Coolest Neighbourhoods in the World 2024. It’s a relaxed, comfortable home shared with me and The Ninjas (my cats 🐱). Think peaceful weekday evenings, the occasional chat over tea or wine, and a genuinely warm, respectful atmosphere.

This setup would suit a professional or postgrad student who works or studies in London during the week and returns home at weekends — someone who values a quiet, homely space to unwind.

• Available: 1 December — I’m happy to wait until the New Year for the right person
• Rent: £750pcm (Monday–Friday stay only) — all bills included: gas, electric, council tax (Band D), water, high-speed broadband, TV licence, streaming services, and weekly cleaner
• Deposit: £750
• WiFi: 1 Gbps Community Fibre throughout the house and garden
• Parking: Residential permit on quiet street (spaces always available)
• Smoking/Vaping: Garden only
• Minimum term: 3 months

• Very comfortable Silentnight Which?-recommended mattress on an Original Bed Co. frame

• Downstairs private shower room & use of upstairs toilet
• Fresh bed linen & towels provided (or bring your own)
• You’re welcome to leave personal items in your room and the shower room at weekends

About You & Me
I’m an Irish lecturer and TV producer. I share my home with four rescue cats (plus the occasional foster pet), so animal lovers only, please. I’m sociable but low-key — into yoga, gigs, travel, horse riding, and good conversation.

This would really suit someone friendly, tidy, and independent who wants a calm weekday home — more of a haven than just a crash pad.
