Double Room + Private Bathroom in E16

I’ve lived here for four years with my housemate, who recently moved back to Zimbabwe to start her own business. I’m now hoping to find someone lovely who is ideally looking to stay for at least a year.

You would officially replace her on the existing tenancy agreement rather than informally subletting the room. Everything would be handled properly through the letting agency, subject to the landlord’s approval and the usual referencing, affordability and Right to Rent checks.

The flat is in Royal Wharf, E16, around a nine-minute walk from West Silvertown DLR station. The available room is a double and costs £1,192.50 per month, with bills separate. My room is larger and has an en-suite, so the second bathroom would be exclusively yours.

The total rent is £2,650 per month. Because my room is larger, we split the rent 55/45, as my former housemate and I always did. This works out at £1,192.50 for your room. Bills are approximately £200 per person each month.

The building also has a residents’ gym, swimming pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi, all included in the rent and rarely busy. The leisure facilities also came with six guest passes per resident each year the last time I checked.

A little about me: I’m 29, Nigerian, and have lived in the UK for 12 years. I studied at Loughborough and King’s and now work in banking and technology. I work from home four days a week, although the flat is generally quiet.

Outside work, I enjoy going to raves, trying quirky activities like wine tastings and skating lessons, and generally exploring new things. That said, I like home to feel calm and comfortable, so I’m ideally looking for someone tidy, considerate and easy to communicate with.
