Specious, clean, relaxed (Mon-Fri or short term)

I'm looking for a friendly, tidy professional to share my spacious two-bedroom, two-bathroom flat on Fish Island, right next to Hackney Wick and overlooking the Olympic Park and River Lea.

My ideal arrangement is a Monday–Friday / midweek flatmate – someone who lives outside London but wants a proper home here during the working week rather than another hotel room or soulless serviced apartment.

I’m flexible on the exact number of nights. As a guide, 4 nights a week would be around £1,000 per month, including bills and a cleaner twice a month.

I’m also open to someone living here 7 nights a week, but at the moment that would need to be short-term – I can commit to up to around 9 months. There may be flexibility beyond that if our plans happen to align.

One important thing: I’m not really looking for someone who works from home full-time. Occasional WFH is absolutely fine, but I’d prefer someone who generally goes out to work. I’m out a lot myself and like the flat to remain a relaxed home rather than accidentally becoming a co-working space 😄

The bedroom is larger than average, bright and sunny, with plenty of space and comes fully furnished. You’ll also have a separate bathroom.

The flat itself is exceptionally spacious and light, with floor-to-ceiling windows. It’s on the 4th floor of a sought-after gated canal-side development overlooking the Olympic Park and River Lea.

👋 Who I'm looking for

Someone clean, tidy, considerate and easy-going who wants somewhere genuinely comfortable to come home to.

This would particularly suit someone who works in London during the week but has their main home elsewhere. You can leave your things here and actually feel at home when you're in London.

I want the flat to feel comfortable and welcoming for everyone, so all genders and sexual orientations are very welcome. I’m gay myself, and I hope that helps make the arrangement feel relaxed and straightforward for anyone who might otherwise feel unsure about sharing with a male flatmate.

There is, however, another man in the house. He's ginger, has four legs and firmly believes he owns the place. 🐈

So unfortunately this probably isn't suitable if you have a cat allergy.

I've lived, studied and worked in five different countries and have shared homes with lots of different people over the years. I'm clean, respectful, sociable but independent, and I'm out quite a lot.

I'm looking for someone who wants a comfortable home rather than just a room, while still allowing us both to have our own lives and space.

📍 Fish Island / Hackney Wick

It's a brilliant part of East London – canal-side, creative and lively, but with lots of green space around us.

• Victoria Park – around 5 minutes' walk
• Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park – literally across the water
• Hackney Wick – bars, restaurants and cafés around 5–10 minutes away
• Several gyms and the London Aquatics Centre within walking distance
• Stratford – around 15 minutes' walk, with Elizabeth line, Central/Jubilee lines, DLR, Overground and national rail connections
• Great cycling routes and bike-sharing nearby
• Particularly convenient for Stansted and London City airports, with good connections to the others too

I'm happy to be flexible for the right person – finding someone I'll actually enjoy sharing my home with matters more to me than squeezing everything into a rigid arrangement. 😊I’d also advertise the midweek arrangement as the headline proposition, rather than saying “flatmate wanted” and explaining the restrictions later. That should attract commuters, consultants, contractors and people with hybrid jobs outside London — exactly the sort of person for whom £1,000 including bills, cleaning and effectively their own bathroom could make sense.
