Description
Hello!
We have a lovely, bright double room now available in our fantastic non-smoking home, just a 10-minute walk from Turnpike Lane station (Piccadilly Line: 20 minutes to central London). The house is situated in a very quiet residential area: Belmont with local parks and shops nearby.
The room:
A small single on the top floor of the house. It comes furnished with a small wardrobe, shelves, a big chest of drawers and a single bed. It has a sash window and lots of light. It faces a quiet road.
At the moment, the room has a bunk bed, which creates more space, but there is the option to keep it or replace it with the single bed.
The house:
The house is a beautiful end-of-terrace home with many original period features which make it extra special. We have a big living room with three sofas and a wide-screen smart TV (Freeview, Firestick), a large kitchen (gas hob, electric oven, air fryer, fridge freezer, microwave, toaster, washing machine, dining table), a bathroom with shower, and a second toilet downstairs. We’re lucky to have a lovely garden (perfect if you’re into gardening!). We also have broadband (700Mb) and gas central heating.
We’ve really made this house into our home so it would suite someone who is looking for a calm and comfortable environment. There’s a lovely atmosphere here – we respect each other’s space and belongings, and we all do our bit to keep the house clean and tidy at all times.
The area:
The street has a great community spirit and there’s a street party every year. It’s mostly settled families living here, so it’s peaceful and quiet. We’re a short walk from Turnpike Lane tube and there are loads of handy bus routes nearby – the 24-hour 243 takes you directly to Stoke Newington, Dalston, Old Street and on to Waterloo / South Bank. Within walking distance we have: Green Lanes (delicious Turkish food, independent shops and bars); Crouch End (nice cafes, restaurants, cinemas); Wood Green (large stores and supermarkets); and Alexandra Palace which is great for walking and has stunning views across London.
The housemates:
One female (Slovakia) and two males (UK/Colombia) in our 30s and 40s. One of us has lived in this house for 18 years (it really is that good!). We are employed as: a graphic designer/photographer; a financial administrator and a film editor.
Our interests include cooking, gardening, music, film, football, yoga, meditation, music festivals. We all get on well and it’s very important to us that we maintain the lovely, respectful family atmosphere that we have here. Now and then we’ll get together for a movie, a barbecue in the garden or a Sunday roast – but we also appreciate time alone to do our own thing.
We’re early risers so the house is quiet after 10pm on week-nights (and generally too, to be honest) so if you want somewhere to party and play loud music late at night then this isn’t the place for you.
We’re looking for someone who will fit right in and is genuinely looking for the kind of home we have here. If this sounds like you then please get in touch!
To apply for a viewing please tell us a bit about yourself and why you’d like to move in with us, and we’ll get back to you.
Rent: £445 per month
Bills: £166 per month (Council Tax, Gas, Electricity, Water, broadband, TV licence, household cleaning products, communal kitchen essentials)
