Description
Location:
The house is located in Tredegar Square, a beautiful, green and quiet Georgian square only a 4 min walk to Mile End station (Central, District, and Hammersmith & City lines) and a 15 min walk from Victoria Park.
House:
The house is generous on space, spread across four floors, as well as a private garden. We have a shared living and kitchen area (fully furnished with TV, sofa, dining table, washing machine and kitchen utilities) and two WCs. The large shared bathroom includes a shower and two sinks.
The garden comes with a seating area, gardening tools and it is a requirement of the landlord that it's maintained by the tenants. We look after the plants and enjoy doing gardening together once a season.
If you're a cat person then this is the neighbourhood for you! There's a much loved Siamese cat that swings by for snacks and cuddles.
Room Available:
The room is on the second floor, facing East towards the rear gardens. Therefore, it gets the morning sun and is very peaceful. It has built-in wardrobes, a sink, a built-in desk, shelving and a chest of drawers. The room fits a double bed that you will need to provide.
Availability, Rent & Contract:
The room is available from 17th November.
The monthly rent is £607 paid directly to the landlord. Bills are roughly £165 a month but may go up a little in winter. It also currently includes a fortnightly cleaner (communal areas only).
Deposit: £607 to the landlord’s account.
Contract: 11 months (remainder of outgoing tenant's 1 year contract). This is a private let directly with the live-out landlord, who is responsive.
Current Household:
We are a friendly group that enjoy a relaxed atmosphere at home but also have active social lives. Although we have full time jobs we like to catch-up and have a laugh together / watch TV. This house is very much like a home to us all, and we’d love to welcome someone that can fit nicely into this dynamic.
We get along, communicate very well and have different backgrounds and interests. Krish (34) is the masterchef of the house and works in health & safety. Luis (35) is an architect and loves everything to do with art. Rachel (44) works in IP law, but loves escaping to salsa class.
New Candidate:
We are preferably looking for a male, however we are looking for the best fit overall and someone long term.
We’d prefer a professional (sorry, no students) who does not work from home full time. Someone friendly and mature, who is willing to be part of our close-knit household; Whether it’s grabbing a coffee once in a while, going to the park together or having a nice chat after work.
The house and garden are quite big and we share the household chores equally. We are looking for someone tidy and conscientious that cleans up after cooking.
Selection Process:
Please send us a message including your age, job, a paragraph about yourself (interests and background), your viewing availability and confirmation that you will be able to provide two references. House Viewings are between 1st and 5th November.
After meeting the future housemates, and sending the reference letters you do a final interview with the landlord.
