Description

Hello!

Our current housemate is moving out and we’re looking for someone to take her spacious double bedroom which overlooks Victoria Park and currently furnished with a double bed, two large wardrobes and a bookcase. The house is a big Victorian building, full of character and light, with high ceilings and period features. We have a very spacious lounge/dining room facing onto Victoria Park at the front and Regent’s Canal at the back. You'll only be sharing a bathroom with one other person as one of the other bedroom’s is an ensuite.

The house is split on 3 floors:
1st – lounge/dining room, hall & kitchen
2nd – bathroom & Maria’s room and your room
3rd – Tae’s room

Your housemates
You’ll be sharing the house with two people (me and Maria) :) Here's a bit about ourselves:

Maria is italian and has been living in London for over 10 years, and living in this house since May 2023. She works in localisation for a fashion brand and usually WFH around 3 days a week. She’s a huge bookworm, and in her free time does a lot of reading/writing/drawing. Shes loves walking, swimming, travelling, languages, and consider the house my peaceful retreat.

Tae (Me) is a 30-year old freelance graphic designer and have been living in this house since last December, but have been in the Bow/Mile End area for about 3 years. I also enjoy reading, going for a run at Victoria Park, trying out new restaurants. I enjoy going to the Hackney Wick sauna sometimes and I’ve also recently started kayaking in Shadwell basin (great fun!)

We’re looking for someone who’s considerate, kind and respectful, we’ll ideally share with professionals in their 30s-40s, although we’re open to younger/older people as long as they’re a good fit. We’re not obsessed with cleaning but really value a tidy and clean environment so looking for someone who feels the same. If this sounds like a fit, drop us a message and tell us a bit about yourself.

The boring stuff
We have a private landlord who’s nice and really cares about the house. We have lovely neighbours with whom we share a WhatsApp group, everyone is friendly and happy to lend a hand (or DIY tool!) when needed.

The rent is £825 pcm to be paid directly to the landlord. You have your own separate contract with him. I’m just checking what the deposit is be, but it’ll be put in a government-approved tenancy deposit scheme. The bills are around £150 pcm but fluctuates depending on energy use. We’ve also got a cleaner who comes every 2 weeks, and we take it in turns to pay her (an additional £45 each).

We’re hoping to do viewing Sunday 2nd November. The move in date will be ASAP as our current housemate will have just moved out by then.

Thanks 😊
