Hi! My name is Alexa and I'm looking for a housemate to join me in my lovely, cosy Bow flat.
The housemate I moved in with is moving on to pastures new with her partner, and I'm looking for someone new to come on in.
The flat is a beautiful 2 bed on a quiet, residential street in Bow. It's a 4 minute walk to Mile End station (central/hammersmith&city/district lines) and it takes around 15/20 mins to get to central on the tube. The flat is also a 15/20 minute walk away from the beautiful Victoria Park, where I spend much of my time wandering around with a coffee in hand in the evenings/on the weekends.
I am a 30 year old professional who works in the city (Bank). I love cooking, reading, writing, running and having a cosy evening in front of the TV with dinner, but similarly love a good trip to the pub with mates and exploring music events in and around London. I'm looking for someone with similar interests who I can hopefully become mates with (considering it's only a 2 bed!). As much as I love to socialise, I similarly love my own space, so it's a pressure-free environment in regard to wanting to hole yourself in your room with a good book in the evenings or be around for a natter.
The room is a great size and comes a large built in wardrobe (with built in lights, too). There is a (non-functioning) mantelpiece/fireplace in the room which is ideal for perching a TV on. The flat has a high-spec shared bathroom and a great kitchen with a washing machine.
The flat is not furnished, so you will need your own bed. The living room (and rest of the flat) has all of my lovely furniture and trinkets in, however, so it's only the room you need to worry about.
The security deposit is £1350 aka 5 weeks of rent (for some reason the listing wasn't accepting this figure despite it being accurate). Rent is £1100 per month excluding bills. Sky is set up for internet (which is pretty cheap), and council tax is £65 per month. I would say bills average to around £175 per month total.
The room is available 15th December latest, but my former housemate is super flexible with getting in sooner! Our lease is up in June, and I am likely to move out then, but you are of course welcome to extend the lease to stay here.
