Description
Furnished bedroom in 2-bedroom flat in Peckham with car parking space.
- The room: pretty basic but everything works. Double bed (frame and mattress), bedding if you want it, desk and chair, loads of storage (wardrobe, big bookshelf, and chest of drawers). Big window (double-glazed) looking over the street. Realistically not big enough for a couple.
- The flat: one big shared living-room-kitchen area, two bedrooms, a bathroom and a central connecting hall room. We’re on the third floor looking out over Peckham High Street. The shared spaces are all yours. Lovely shared kitchen-living room space.
- The building: modern building (which means there is a lift, everything works, and the neighbours could be being as noisy as they like and we don’t hear anything at all, and vice-versa).
- The living room: big sofa (turns into a bed if you have guests staying over). Loads of extra seating if we need it. Several hundred books. A tuned upright piano. No TV but there is a projector for film nights/etc. Opens out onto the balcony.
- Kitchen: it's good. Gas hobs. Big fridge-freezer. Dishwasher. Plenty of cooking equipment, spices, etc. All yours to use whenever you like.
- Two balconies looking out onto the high street (I don't smoke in the flat, but it is very easy to sit out on the balcony for a cigarette).
- New boiler. Radiators work.
- Parking: flat comes with a parking space (in the underground car park beneath the building) which I don't use.
- The area: SE London is great. Peckham itself is amazing. Near great markets, restaurants, cinemas, bars, parks, bla bla bla.
- Also super near the boring stuff: Tesco express at the bottom of the building, big Morrisons is seven minutes away.
- Transport: zone 2. Six minute walk to Peckham Rye station (direct links to Clapham Junction, London Bridge, Victoria, Blackfriars, Kings Cross (on Thameslink) and the Overground which runs all through the docklands up through East London to Dalston). Also opposite a bus stop which has loads of buses into the centre of London (12, 63, 171).
Other stuff:
- Bills: rent inclusive of ALL of them (electricity, gas, council tax) - I want to avoid all complications around bills. No hidden charges. You would only have to pay the rent.
- Council tax band is C and we are in Southwark council (I am legally required to put this in the description, but I pay it so it's irrelevant to you).
- Comms: I have a TV licence. I also have wifi. That’s all included too.
- Smokers fine.
- Cleaning: your room is yours. I won't go in there or police anything. I have a cleaner who comes every week (which I pay for). They can clean your room too if you like.
- Me: I am male, in my 30s, work full time at a university. This means I do sometimes work at home.
- Social stuff: absolutely fine if you want to bring people round. I will also sometimes have people round for dinner/drinks on weekends. Would be lovely if you wanted to join (but of course fine if you didn’t. The walls are not thin).
- There is a piano. I will play on it sometimes. If you'd hate that, you don't want to live in this flat. If you want to play on it too, that would be awesome.
- There are two cats. You will not like this flat if you don’t like cats. They are fantastically well-trained, super peaceable, affectionate, and quiet. But they are nonetheless cats, and will do what cats do.
- Rye Lane is a major road, where people go out. The double-glazing is pretty good, but you may not want to live here if you need glacial quiet at all points.
- No homophobes.
