Student house share ensuite room Peckham £740
Hello everyone, we are looking for new housemates to join us.
We would like to have some gender balance, so we are currently looking for females/trans/enby. Also, we are looking for other students so we do not have to pay council tax.
The idea is to form a small open minded, non-discriminatory and supportive community. The contract renews on the 21st of October, but one person already said they are willing to give up their room earlier, and more might follow. There is definitely space for people to crash if you need to move earlier than people are leaving.

The house is in Peckham SE15. ~25 min from the IoPPN/ Denmark Hill campus on foot. Or ~20min to Strand campus by bike or ~20min on foot to Goldsmith or UAL.
There is now 1 ensuite room available, at £740 per month with view to the garden. Bills are at £15-30 per per person per month. Perks of the house are: a garden, a rooftop terrace, a dishwasher, 2 wash machines, 2 stoves & fridges & freezers, blender, slow cooker, steamer, an electric grill, a microwave, a cold press juicer, a big TV, and a vibration/power plate. Lidl, Aldi and Morrisons are all within walking distance. It’s about 5 min to get to a wee hidden and greened footpath that then leads to Burgess Park within 15min. Pechkham Rye and Peckham queen street station are 10-15min on foot.
Only bed, wardrobe and drawers are part of the rooms. People might leave some stuff though. There is a bed stand for each mattress, one person just preferred only a mattress.
If you are interested, or have further questions, please message us with a small introduction to yourself and your vision for a housing co-op like house.

About us:
-Maite: I am 23 years old and come from the Basque Country (North of Spain). I went to a performing arts high school in California for a year from where I had graduated. After that I worked as an english teacher in an academy for children back in Spain before going to Scotland, where I spent the following four years studying a degree in Zoology.
Currently, I am a MA student interested in the relationship between art and science and having a degree in zoology deeply interests me for conservation biology. I have a deep interest in biodiversity as well as the study of animal evolution (especially behaviour and humanities).
Overall, I am a pretty easy going person and like to have nice chats about pretty much everything and anything lol whenever Im free . I also like doing that with a glass of wine xd (that plus good company). I am right now into film photography, oil painting, and I also sing and play with my acoustic guitar and my favourite sport is ice skating, which I like since since I was little but properly started it two years ago (no Im not a pro). I probably am missing other things (feel free to ask) but surely I would like to have someone to live with us who respects each other’s space and privacy as well as someone who is happy to bring everyone together for a nice plan (that will be me unconsciously xxx).
-Siobhan: I’m half Spanish and half irish and have grown up in Amsterdam and Dublin. I went to a french school so I speak a fair few languages and love learning new ones! Last year I lived in rural japan for a year working with children with disabilities. I’m now doing an MA in Art Psychotherapy and I’m also a visual artist. I am a queer and cute girl who loves to eat , socialize, and chill (I’m a Taurus)
-Florian: I am originally from Germany, but lived in Glasgow for 6 years before moving to London.
I do research in virtual reality and schizophrenia at the IoPPN/ KCL Denmark Hill. I spend a lot of my free time on Do It Yourself and community projects. I like to be in nature, forage regularly and started setting up the garden. I try to bike everywhere and am generally active. Normally I do Judo, but currently my focus is on staff/fire spinning and Climbing. I try to learn the guitar and sing from time to time. Also, I sometimes DJ Techno and Drum and Bass. I like to cook and also like to experiment there. I also always enjoy giving people introductions into Virtual Reality.
I would like the house to have communal activities from time to time, such as cook together, play games or watch movies every now and then. Nevertheless, this should come naturally and not feel forced. I have made good experiences with there being regular meetings to discuss house issues, resolve conflict before it gets out of hand or even discuss projects to take on as a house or in smaller groups. Moreover, there needs to be a communal effort to keep the house intact, so I would like to have this again and people contributing towards this. Generally, I work best with people that address issues frankly, but are polite and open in finding or exploring potential compromises.
-Aboud: Living in Japan, and same as what Florian mentioned about the flat haha. I’m a medical doctor, just finished my Ph. D in Japan (behavioral neuroscience), and coming to King’s in October to study MSc in War & Psychiatry. Originally from Syria but left when problems escalated. Lived in Germany and lovely Amsterdam for one year before moving to Japan in 2016. Love to socialize and discuss many topics, especially us humans in general.. can tell you a lot about Japan. Fascinated about the mystery of our brain and how it can be programmed and switched!
Ideal weekend is a group movie time with couple beers & nice food or a night out in a nice place with lovely people, or hiking with coffee when reaching the top.. and many more!! but some cleaning time is also good and refreshing 😜
Finally, personal space and respecting privacy is very important when sharing a flat, but a community living is also as important and enriching, especially in the corona time.
- Manuel Campano.
I am from Mallorca, island in Spain. I started a first year of Biology in the University of Sussex the last year, but not feeling completely
comfortable with the future prospects of that path, I decide to switch my course. This year, I am going to start a degree called BA Psychosocial Studies in Goldsmiths University, and I am very excited for the holistic perspective that it takes. I will be trained to become a psychotherapist, but I will also study anthropological and sociological perspectives to
understand the human nature.
To explain a bit more about myself, I have been travelling since I was 18 years old up to my 22 around the whole globe.
This travels through South Asia, Dominican Republic and Senegal opened widely my perspectives. Was after all this experiences that I decided to study and start to settle down.
My personal interests are wide and embrace different areas of life. I am a considerable creative person who makes music, likes to paint and also writes fiction and poetry. During the last year I finished 3 short histories, I learned new songs for classical guitar and composed my own ones and also made lots of
paints, mostly with watercolours. This artistic vein comes partially from my father, who was a well-recognised artist the last century in Spain. My musical interests are also wide and concrete and vary from Jazz and Bossa Nova,
Flamenco Gypsy music from Spain, Classical Music, Folklore from Eastern Countries, Arab music, and also electronic and modern music such as House, Trap and Latin Music.
On other direction, during this summer I have also developed new qualities while working for 2 months on a farm in the
mountain. I started to work with my hands; moving rocks to build a roof, touching soil and watering
plants, and I developed more awareness of the physical nature of fulfilment. Since then, I am very interested in doing physical activity to connect with the
earthy aspects of life. I love swimming every day and I would like to continue gardening as well when possible.
Also, I am also a very sociable person. I really like to share time with people and hang out together. I love to laughand
having fun and I enjoy social activities such as going to pubs, openings, doing sport with more people, going to parties, making jam sessions, doing communal
dinners, having deep conversations, etc. Although I love doing fun things, I
also have a deep sense of respect and humility to other people. I have always
think that freedom comes with responsibility and in order to be happy someone first needs be responsible with its own life and have coherent values to live
properly in a social world. For that reason, I also respect privacy and intimacy and will also appreciate my own one when living in the house.
Finally, it’s important to say too that I am concerned with most of the aspects of communal living. I have already been sharing a house with other 5 members the last year and I learned lots of things on the process. My abilities cleaning, cooking, taking consideration of other
people needs, communicating problems to solve house issues, etc. improved considerably. I felt throughout the experience I built trust and confidence
with my housemates and we developed a beautiful friendship that made the time in the house pleasant.
