Beautiful double in Peckham

Hi!! We’re Jana (27) and Caryn (25), two sisters who live in a beautiful Victorian house in Queens Road Peckham. We’re looking for a third flatmate to take over our housemates double room. Ideally we want a flatmate who likes the house as much as we do and wants to make it a chill but welcoming place for ourselves and friends.

The room: Rent is £996, paid on the 21st of each month. There is also a separate desk/ office space available that you can use. Bills at the moment including everything (wifi etc) come to £135.00 but do fluctuate a bit (we’re in council tax band D). We’ve lived in the house for 2 years, and just resigned a 24 month contract with a 12 month break clause (from September 2024). Ideally looking for someone until at least September 2025. The room comes with a bed (and mattress tbd). There are cabinets in the room as well as a large wardrobe in the hallway that would be yours. We do also have a spare clothing rack that you’d be welcome to use.

The house: There’s a spacious bathroom with a shower/ bath (with good pressure!!) that’s shared between the three rooms. There’s also a living/ dining room and kitchen with everything you might need - blender, Nespresso, juicer, sodastream. There is also a dishwasher (yay!) and all the other basics. The star of the show is our English garden with olive trees, grape trees, bluebells, fig tree and loads of other stuff.

About us: We’re two sisters from South Africa who have both studied in the UK, one in corporate events and one working in ESG. We come with a little British Shorthair cat called Eli who mostly keeps to himself but will ask for the odd cuddle. We are super sociable but like that the house can be a calm place for us to relax and feel at home. Both enjoy going out with friends and late nights but equally love spending time in nature and doing wholesome things. We’re veggie and vegan so would prefer someone who doesn’t cook loads of meat but not a dealbreaker.

On the practical stuff - we tend to be home more during the week nights but out and about during weekends. Both of us work from home between 2-3 days a week, sometimes more, sometimes less. We have a cleaning schedule that we stick to just to make things easy - we love a tidy space so really want a flatmate that gets this. We’re genuinely considerate of each other and want that vibe to continue with our future flatmate.

The area: The house is on a quiet crescent across from a cute little park. It’s around 8 minutes walk from Queens Road Peckham station, and there are loads of bus stops around. We’re around 20 mins walk from Peckham high street, which has loads of cute and fun bars/ restaurants/ cafes/ going out places. We’re within walking distance of lots of green spaces too, including Burgess Park, Peckham Rye, Nunhead Cemetery and Telegraph Hill - all so beautiful to walk around.

We’re available for viewings generally weekday evenings, Mondays and Fridays all day and weekends should be okay too - we have a few holidays/ weekends away but will just work around those!
