Description
Hiya potential roomie,
Unfortuantely as I take on a new job, I am moving out of my extra sunny and cozy room by Queens Road Peckham. The coziness does not stop with the room as the three gals currently living there are the friendlist Brits (and Kiwi) you will meet. Even out of the home, I have grown close with neighbours, young and old, baristas at nearby cafes (Corner, Blackbird, and more!) and of course the team over at the best local of London, Skehan's :) (10 minute walk away!)
The house sits at the end of Astbury Rd, only a 5 min walk to Queens Road Station, 10 min walk from Lidls, offering a sense of security and a residents association that always keeps each other informed or is willing to lend a hand. Made up of four rooms, a living, room, an done-up kitchen, and 1.5 bathrooms, this house is special for all the gals and they hope the next person puts in their part to make it feel like a home.
We are looking for a young professional that values a social, friendly, and clean flat. As this room is on the first floor, you will definitely get your share of privacy, and I have easily been able to work from home up to 5 days a week. The room gets incredible light all day and I have put in the effort to do up the front garden to look out to some lovely plants. The room comes furnished with a bed, duvet, pillows, a closet, shelving, white ikea drawers, and a desk. The blue desk/cabinet, white cabinet, red mirror, and rattan chair are unfortunately mine that I will be taking, but everything else is for you!!!
The kitchen is super easy to use, as well as an in unit washing machine and appliances that are trusty and we have never had a problem with.
A little more about your potential future roomies, Lara is from rural Cambridge and works in digital marketing for Disney and as a supervisor out at the Little Orange Door. She is always keen for a pint and basically knows every young person in hospo in the area.
Marina grew up in Surrey, bringing in the spice with her Greek Armenian roots. She works as a sponsorship sales consultant for events around London and loves to up extra early for a gym pump, but will never say no to coffee walk or dinner to meet your friends or introduce you to hers. Both Lara and Marina go wayyyy back from their uni days.
Willoughby is our in-house Kiwi and works as a receptionist at a Marylebone dental clinic. (ooolala) At her core, her passions lie in filmmaking and she has some pretty cool (and grueling) filming experiences as a camera assistant. She also loves a good end of day chat/breakdown just like the rest of the gals.
Whether you need a bit of advice, a hype-up before a long day, or a walk to get your steps in the gals are keen to meet someone that is ready to make this their home and settle in for the long term. Considering how tight knit the gals are, it will be extra important for us to all meet whether over the phone or in-person. This was my first flat moving from the States and the gals were cheerleaders over the move, checking in every week.
Drop a message and we can set up a meetup, virtual or in-person work great. The room is already available for move-in but the room is paid for until Dec 18th so there is flexibility on your end, I would just say the sooner the better!
UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY: as a p. s. if the vibe sounds perfect but the room may not be in your budget, there is an opportunity to switch rooms with Willoughby who is currently occupying a slightly smaller room for 961 (will edit soon). I will upload photos of her room tomorrow but please inquire if this sounds like something you may be keen for!!
Bills:
- WiFi 7.50
- Electricity: depends, winter max 30 summer 15
- Council Tax: 47
- all of it together, including council tax, around 100-130
Council Tax Band D
I will be putting this room up on gals who rent, in case the early bird bit is stopping you from contacting me :)
