Description
The Flat
Double bed to rent in lovely 2 bed flat. The flat is part of a 2-flat detached house (we are the top-floor flat) with a recently renovated open-plan kitchen and sitting room. Clean but small shared bathroom and your bedroom is on your own floor (its a converted attic) so you will have plenty of privacy in your room. The windows are triple glazed so very little sound from outside of the flat which I really appreciate in London!.
Its main selling point is a lovely open-plan kitchen and sitting room, and your room is not large, but space for a double bed, a wardrobe, a table and chairs so isn't tiny either. Lots of storage space, and you can have your own bookshelves if you're a reader. Currently trying to keep a few plants in the flat, would love some more! All the usual amenities such as dishwasher, washing machine etc and the sofa comes out as a sofa bed if you need to put someone up for a night, that's okay in principle. There are two small fridges, so you will have one to yourself. Don't currently have Sky, but plan to get an amazon fire stick as my current housemate who is moving out is taking that with them. All bills included, such as broadband and council tax etc, you will just pay rent.
Transport links
Fantastic transport links as is less than a 100 metre walk to Seven Sisters tube station, which is also on the overground and national rail network. 30 minute commute to Liverpool Street, as well as being on the Victoria Line for easy access to Central London. Also a 15 minute walk to Tottenham Hale station, with easy access to Stansted Airport. Having the Victoria Line, National Rail and Overground within a 1-2 min walk is incredibly helpful!
Surrounding Area
Seven Sisters is a (slowly!) up and coming area, with some new bars and restaurants opening up, and a increasingly vibrant social scene in the Tottenham warehouse district (there was a new Markfield Road Festival a few weeks ago) and lots of regeneration around the local Breweries of Blackhorse Road. Lots of great amenities nearby, depending what you are into! The reservoirs (great for swimming!) and Stoke Newington or Dalston or Shoreditch are a short bus away for night life, or Islington or Hackney close too. The Walthamstow Wetlands and Hackney Marshes and the Lea Valley Canal are all fantastic for walking, running, or exploring nature. There is a lot nearby! There is also a PureGym opening that you can literally see from the flat.
Me!
I am 33 and a teacher in a secondary school in Central London. Being a teacher, I spend a lot of my school holidays out of London, so you will have the place to yourself during those times. I am very active, doing a lot of sport such as cycling, golf, running, tennis, gym, or pretty much anything. I also love reading, walking in nature, chess, cards, all sorts really. I have lived in London for a long time so got a great group of friends and am relatively social, but with teaching being exhausting, I try to be pretty chilled during the working week in the flat. That being said, am pretty accomodating for you having dinner parties or people over for drinks if you want. Still, not someone who is having parties all night during the week please as will have work early in the morning. Think you will find me very easy going and happy to meet a new person but get the balance between being sociable, but recognising each other's need for a bit of space too.
You!
Happy with either a male or a female, main thing is being pretty clean and tidy. I have said no couples, but of course if you have a partner who wants to stay over a few times a week, that's okay. Would LOVE a cat (only reason I don't have one is I go away too much) but just bear in mind that garden access is a bit tricky!
