Description
Hello!
Me and my wonderful housemate Rebecca are looking for a third housemate to join us in our new house from 1st December. The room that's available is the biggest room - it's a spacious Double with a MASSIVE in-built wardrobe and drawer space so you wouldn't need to buy any extra storage furniture. The room has loads of light and overlooks a quiet residential street. The bed currently in there is being taken by the owner (it's a super king so probably bigger than what most people would want anyway!). We might have a double bed frame left that we can put in there (no mattress though), but otherwise we've marked the room as unfurnished just in case you have a bed you want to bring.
About the house: the house is a 3-bed, 3-storey, gorgeous terrace with a big back garden and huge living area. The house is owned by a good friend of mine and he's moving to LA mid-November hence why he's renting the house out. Given it's a friend, the rent is just enough to pay the mortgage and there isn't a deposit so this is a very trust-based housing situation. There will be a tenancy agreement of course for formality, but as me and Rebecca have lived together for years already we are looking for a third person who we can build a trusting, solid friendship with as well as being a good housemate.
The house has a massive living/dining area, a good sized kitchen, one bathroom to share between the three of us, and a lovely back garden with decking and a little pond/nature area. We are big on wildlife and gardening so there are bird boxes, bug hotels, and gorgeous rose bushes that we will tend to. The garden is a sun trap as well so it's great for BBQs or just sunbathing while WFH! The house is on a quiet residential street but its around the corner from Seven Sisters tube (Victoria, Overground) so it is super easy to get central and east. Loads of great local shops and restaurants nearby as well.
About us: my name is Hannah (she/her), I'm 31, from Cornwall, and I work in the TV/Film industry. Rebecca (she/they) is 26, from New York, and also works in the TV/Film industry. We are both queer, social, and have our own lives as well as hanging together. We are looking for someone who is clean, respectful, and relaxed. We do things together as a house but also have our own friends and different hobbies so we're giving each other space as well. We are part of a queer book club that we will sometimes host, and I also like to host dinner parties and have friends over so it's a social household (but not a big party household). Rebecca works in the office 5 days a week, and I'm 3-4 days in and 1-2 days WFH (we all have space for our own desks in our rooms).
We've said no pets on the ad - we love them but unfortunately Rebecca is allergic to cats. We might consider someone with a dog BUT that depends on behaviour and how socialised they are (we don't want to dog to be stressed out when people come and go!).
We think bills will be approx. £120pp monthly (council tax, utilities, internet). We'd probably like to hire a cleaner as well but will have that conversation together as different people have different budgets.
I'll be moving into the house very soon, and can show people around before the owner moves out. I think that covers everything from us, but just let me know if you have any questions!!
