Hello potential flatmate <3
We are looking for a cutie who is a clean and considerate, someone able to live independently and proactive in doing basic domestic tasks. You must have lived with flatmates successfully before, not just family/best friends/partners etc.
During the week we are quiet after midnight, during the weekend noise is permitted as you please. People come and go, so if you are looking to make besties it's maybe better to go for a larger warehouse space or a flat of close friends. All nice people live here and will live here, but travel/work/schedules may mean there's not a lot of overlap of people home together.
The house is very spacious, great for dinners or gatherings/drinks/movies/exercise classes with friends (who are always welcome of course)
However we don't do really big parties or invite groups of strangers etc.
ideal for a maker/artist of any kind who needs extra space outside the bedroom for their practice/exercise or whatever. We have an upper level which can be used for extra work space.
Secure gated courtyard with bike storage, space to park, and the nicest/chill neighbours.
I have a beautiful cat who loves people but doesn't get along with other pets, so we can't have more.
You'll be expected to:
• vacuum the main space, clean bathroom and kitchen once per month, at your convenience/no rota.
• clean your dishes and leave the bathroom clean after use EVERY DAY
• keep the house safe by always closing the door and not creating fire hazards with candles etc. (seems obvious but we had issues before!)
• not be very noisy after midnight during the week (this is mainly for the neighbours)
• should be tolerant of everyone's various activities as long as they're being reasonable/respectful. including noise in the permitted hours
The rest is your own business and you will be left in peace to do as you please<3 weekend and daytime you can make as much noise as you want
Room can be decorated and renovated to any liking
An energy conscious person please! not leaving heaters on while you're on holiday etc.
This is a sublet agreement, you will not have a tenancy but are still legally entitled to be registered here and claim benefits including housing benefits, council tax register etc., voting, with a written contract.
The notice period is one calendar month either way.
Will require a quick character reference from a previous flatmate or current employer if interested in moving in after viewing :)
Please note:
I am the leaseholder so have to collect and send all our rents on the first of the month, beyond that I am not paid or employed in any capacity to provide services like cleaning etc.
The contract has just been renewed for five years, so no eviction possible until 2031 (aside from serious breaches of course)
I communicate with the landlord for essential repairs and follow up until they're done but it can take a while so would love someone who knows how to prevent small damage/is up for helping to fix together when it happens.
