Description
Hello! We have 1 double room coming available in our massive, awesome, open plan warehouse conversion. It's £525/month inclusive of all bills - only available to singles I'm afraid.
The room is available from the 1st February and is a toasty warm downstairs room with a good sized opening window. The room is sort of L shaped and is a good size with plenty of space for a double bed, desk etc. but officialy comes unfurnished (although there is often spare furniture to be had that people aren't using).
Decorating your room is fine. One month's rent is taken as a deposit and the notice period when moving out is also one month.
There are 22 rooms in our warehouse in total and usually around 23-25 housemates depending on the number of couples. We're a mixed bunch of people: some creative, some musical, photographers, web designer and other random professionals (teacher, engineers, students...) along with 3 mischievous cats! Ages in the house range from 20-34 and although we're a bit boy heavy at the moment we generally try for a roughly even male/female split.
Despite there being so many of us most of us have sensible jobs so we make sure noise levels are kept down during the week and we don't have constant parties - not that we don't party at all, every so often we will have a large one, usually with a fancy dress theme, examples have been: day of the dead, revenge of the nerds, invent your own superhero, burlesque/circus...
All the rooms have central heating and a window. Upstairs ones have loads of natural light due to the pitched roof being all window on one side, downstairs ones are obviously darker but have the advantage of being cooler in summer and warmer in winter.
ALL BILLS INCLUDED & FIBRE BROADBAND
The only extra to pay is £10/month per person which goes into a house kitty for buying communal house essentials like loo roll, cleaning stuff, paint etc. We have a cleaner four hours per week - also included in the rent.
There is a huge lounge with very high ceilings and lots of natural light. There's a large shared kitchen area with dishwasher, 4 toilets and 3 showers, 3 washing machines, 4 large fridges and a large chest freezer. We also have an upstairs mezzanine with a second lounge area, a workspace with desks and a space for visitors to stay over.
For entertainment we have a pool table, bar, projector and sound system, guitars, a ping pong table, a dartboard and a big inflatable hot tub (currently decommisioned for winter and needing some puncture repair unfortunately). We are a sociable bunch and like to watch movies, play games, socialise, have awesome parties and generally have a lot of fun. We have a regular poker night on Thursdays - either here or in another warehouse nearby, we often sit down as a group to watch a film or TV series on the projector and sometimes share communal meals when someone's feeling chefy.
The warehouse conversion is about two and a half years old but there's always scope for improvements if you have ideas you want to make happen.
The unit is located in a creative area with lots of other converted warehouses nearby. There is a real community feel to the area and there have been parties, shows and exhibitions on the street, so you're never far from some solid entertainment. There's always something going on so be prepared to alienate all of your current friends by rarely having any reason to leave.
There are excellent transport links:
King's Cross 15 mins on Victoria Line, Liverpool St 15 mins on rail
- 5 mins walk to Tottenham Hale - Victoria Line and National Rail
- 10 mins walk to Seven Sisters - Victoria Line and National Rail
- 15 mins walk to South Tottenham - Overground
- Many nightbuses close to/from Seven Sisters.
If this sounds like somewhere you would like to call your new home reply with some info about yourself to arrange a viewing and meet us.
Cheers,
Simon (house manager)
