Hi, I'm offering a lovely bright, clean, comfortable double room in South Norwood for a short-term tenancy (maximum six months). The room is in my home (photos attached), in a safe and quiet neighbourhood, located about 7 mins walk from Norwood Junction station, and a three minute walk to bus stops. There are two supermarkets and other local shops in the neighbourhood. The room has a door lock, and looks onto the back patio garden, with pretty views over the allotments that back onto the garden wall.
The house will be going on the market for sale in November, so you will need to be comfortable with agreeing to rent the room on a month-by-month basis, until a sale is completed (likely to be 90-120 days from going on the market, though possibly longer).
In addition to the room, you'll have use of the kitchen, bathroom (bath + shower), dining room and back garden patio. You can also use the living room when I'm not in. The house is a non-smoking home, although if you are a smoker you can use the back garden.
Norwood Junction is extremely well connected to central London, with fast trains to London Bridge (12 mins), Blackfriars (16 mins) Farringdon (20 mins) and Kings Cross (25 mins), as well as direct trains to Clapham Junction (20 mins) and Victoria (30 mins). Norwood Junction is also on the Windrush London Overground line, which runs from West Croydon to Highbury and Islington via Canada Water, Shoreditch and Hoxton. East Croydon station is 5 mins away by train or 10 minutes on the bus. Trains from Norwood Junction also run directly to Gatwick airport (35 mins) and Luton airport (60 mins).
The room might be ideally suited to someone based outside the city who works in London during the week and needs a nice, comfortable home while working here. It might also ideally suit a person on a short term employment contract in London, or someone needing accommodation while awaiting a permanent move elsewhere.
